I wish everyone would watch this interview and realize that each person has a past that has influenced their path. People are not just born bad. Another example of how a broken childhood has such a negative impact. So heartbreaking.

I agree Bridgett. He had a bad start due to his mom's health issues and his father not being in his life. Its a huge disadvantage for any child or young person growing up. He was never thought how to deal with some of the hash realities of this world. He learn a lot on his own due to not having any a father figure. At 28, he seems to be moving in the right direction. I hope things workout for him

saying "oh no that's so sad" and "not gonna blame you for your choices because you have excuses" etc is empathetic and that serves a purpose, but that doesn't change anything. what's the root of the problem? why do people and so many of them have these pasts that influences their lives in negative ways? edit: and what can we try and do to work against it.

Absolutely. I do believe what we experience during childhood can influence the choices we make in life. Sometimes negative childhood experiences can keep us stuck in a negative cycle, but that cycle can be broken. Some just struggle to break it.

I've come to understand that as humans we find our comfort zone and stay there. Some are middle class workers, others are homeless, gang members, or prostitutes. Its the comfort zone we become use to and its the comfort zone we don't want to leave. In a sense a middle class citizen could ask a homeless person, "Why don't you change?" The homeless person could very well ask the same question and leave us all pondering. This channel has made realize comfort zones ("this is all I know") are the real enemy regardless of class.
@ginnybloomer5132

And the number one thing that holds us there? Fear! Fear of the unknown, fear of our capabilities, fear of life itself........and the greatest fear? Taking that first step outside our comfort zone. Fear can keep us frozen. Some never leave their comfort zone. Others with help, encouragement and guidance, taking baby steps can break out. But the number one reason people become stuck in their comfort zone is lack of confidence. And confidence is something that as small children our parents instill in us and help nuture it and grow.

I love how the comment section here isn't full of hate or jokes it feels really safe. Thanks for doing this Mark. I work for an agency in MA as an education coordinator for people who have mental issues, dual diagnosis or even brain injuries and its given me so much perspective. Your channel definitely takes it to a new level. Everyone has a story nobody's story is better than others here and that's our common denominator. Its dope how there's an outlet for us who have genuine love and care for one another fr. PS. Whoever reading this I hope you have a blessed day.

The only thing that is the truth on this interview is the fact is his mom had Lupus... This is my family he was not born in New Orleans. If you got paid for this interview I hope the money was worth you lying and making it seem like your family was not here for you since your mom died I’m sure she is rolling over right now over this... and the interviewer should have been able to see the time lines didn’t even add up smh Wooda you should be a shamed of this video

@@haydengraham1554 society and humanity is never gonna improve if the solution to everyone we deem as evil or immoral is to lock them up. These people have had lives (and childhoods) that I'm sure many can't even begin to imagine. I'm not defending his actions, his actions are wrong. This man is clearly ignorant, his misdeeds are guided by a broken moral compass and locking him up with other people in the same situation does nothing. You can't hate the bad out of someone, you can't beat the bad out of someone. You can re-educated and love the bad out of someone tho.

We don’t know the whole story. Once you’re in the system it’s a process to even get in touch with bio family members. Who knows, he might be trying to get his self together in order to get custody of his children?? I hope that if his children see this that they don’t feel forgotten or left behind... And those kids might be in a way better situation than he could ever provide them??

My god when this young man smiled it was like the sun came up in that room. I respect that he took responsibility for manipulating his friend. Obviously I hate what they did. I _hate it_ that another young man is dead. I hate that his mother died and he was possibly left alone with people that exchanged him for a check. I hope that he and Frankie and the baby can make a life together as I want that for them so much. Their baby deserves better than his/her parents had. I really want the best for the three of them. Thank you for providing a small stage on which we can dream for the people who sit for you, Mark. All of them ... Every last one of the people that sit on that stool and tell their story are DESERVING of a listening ear and love and serenity.
