This was my childhood too. Somehow I managed to be a productive person in society but the memories will never leave me. Hang in there sweetheart and try and not let the abuse define you. I can relate to your story completely , I wasn't abused to the extent that you were but I'm now 67 and still think about what happened. I consider myself lucky as well that I didn't go down a dark road but along the way I have thought of suicide. ❤

I’m glad she made the point that even though she was always smiling, there was horrible abuse behind the scenes. That’s a thing. When I began speaking out about what happened to me, one of the things that got thrown up to me by people who didn’t believe me was, “You were always smiling and cracking jokes. You were smiling in all the pictures.” It was called coping. Acting. Surviving. Whatever you have to do to get through the day with the least damage possible. Aideliz, you are lovely and an inspiration. Your kids are very fortunate to have you as a mama. And your dress is beautiful.

My first memory was also at age 3. The fact that I am a functioning adult after 9 years of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse is my greatest accomplishment. Drugs. Alcohol. Guns. Imagine being brought up around that every day. When I got older (in my 20’s), I was unable to pursue criminal charges because statute of limitations. I’m thankful that laws have changed since then. It’s a life long struggle of anxiety and depression. The shame is always there although after decades of on again off again therapy, it has lessened.

Like you the statue of the crime prevented me to pursue. Both abusers are mad at me because I called them on their abuse. Not one has apologized or expressed what they have done to me. I refuse to talk to my mother. It triggers me because she refuses to acknowledge her abuse towards me.

She still talks to her mother?… Where the fuck was she when all of this abuse was happening? Especially since SHE was the main one bringing all of these damn men into her home and around her daughter. I have to strongly question her conviction when she allows an obviously toxic woman who is the causation of her continued abuse to remain in her life, yet cut everyone else off.

This happens all the time. A mother in a rocky financial situation, struggling to keep a roof of her and her children’s head, possibly suspecting something but doesn’t really know for sure and ignores it becuz she doesn’t wanna be on the streets. Not sure how you don’t know about ur young daughter being tied up and painfully abused sexually with lashes on her back though, but I wasn’t there so who knows what the situation was. Fucked up situation all around.

Yes, what about the mother?Did this child get blamed by the mother for this abuse? Many abusers blame the person they abused, as making them do it and not taking responsibility for their actions. Mothers will blame their own children just so they don't have to hold their male companions responsible....thus they don't have to be a responsible protective mother either. There is no excuse. Their is no crime greater than harming a child and the worst crime is to blame them for being abused in the 1st place.

I relate so much to her story and have watched almost all the interviews . When she said she wished the teachers when she looked at them could just see through her and see everything I felt that . Unfortunately I did become a static but I’m also very aware and have 6 years of sobriety under my belt but this crippling depression and the survival mode I haven’t seemed to get over it … thank you for speaking up for being relatable ,being a survivor . I have emailed mark and hope to one day share my story but until then i know I have family within the soft white underbelly interviews and I’m not alone . I think one of my biggest assets like you stated is seeing the bigger picture ,never really judging anyone someone could be smiling or be “pretty” and be dying inside and hide so much pain and trauma and a story of survival. Thank you . 🖤

Until watching your videos SWU I didn’t know so many people out there have gone through what I went through as a child to adulthood. To this beautiful woman, you beat them, they didn’t win..don’t forget that! You grew up going through all this pain and suffering holding onto hope, that’s your saving grace! Hope is all we have to hold on to, it’s played a huge part in how we grew up..We believe as we went through our abuse there is something greater, something better, we were right! We can’t change these creeps, these people who are/were saposta love us and protect us, it’s their demons they choose to hold on to. We choose good, love and beauty. We didn’t give up on ourselves and we let God in our life…all along he was right there holding us up. Stay strong and don’t ever lose hope! God won’t ever let you down! All we can do is pray for these horrible people who have hurt us and those who continue to hurt others. They can’t change or take back the pain they caused, but we can pray for them..pray they never harm another, pray they seek God. Don’t ever let go of hope…I tell everyone, HOPE IS what we who have faith will wake up to one day. We will then know pure love and total peace..beauty will surround us 🙏❤️

This woman is AMAZING! Wow, so sad and yet so empowering for many people who have been through this! I read the book “ A child called it “ Devastating what they both have been through, and both have come out better in life than most 💕💕 FYI: NEVER let someone tell you to “ get over it “ or to “ move on “ !!! We all handle things differently, moving forward as slowly or fast as we see fit! It’s never anyone else’s place to tell someone how to do it!

What an incredibly strong, courageous, beautiful, articulate & intelligent young woman. I have no doubt you will help many people in your life. You have a gift. I’m just desperately sorry you had to go through hell first. If only the world could learn how you are able to endure a living hell yet somehow not let it destroy you. You clearly have very real struggles with your depression & anxiety & your eating disorders but thankfully you’ve never felt the need to turn to drugs or alcohol to try to escape your past. That in no way is against the many, many abuse victims who sadly are unable to do that & will do & take anything to try to escape their poor tortured minds. I wonder if there have ever been clinical studies such as brain scans to compare abuse victims who cope relatively well, to those who turn to substances to try to escape & to those who become abusers themselves. I saw a very good TV programme here in the UK about an ex footballer (soccer) who had a very serious gambling addiction. They scanned his brain whilst showing him various images. His brain responded much more actively to images of gambling than to images the majority of us would respond more to, such as nature, food and family.

You are a beautiful inspiring women and a powerful soul! Your past does not define who u really are! Your courage to tell your story is remarkable especially considering the way you carry yourself and the image u portray with your positivity and the risk involved. Sharing the truth of your story is part of your healing, the pain is no longer hidden within u and u can live your true purpose to share your beauty through the pain. I also have the book "A Child Called It" and I have the rest of the series of books by the author. Your story of triumph will inspire others in the same way. This is what it means to be truly human. Sending blessings for healing and fulfilling your dreams🙌🌟🌹 I truly believe that your life will blossom in ways beyond your wildest dreams! Your courage and faith will guide you!

I have had the same life except without sexual abuse. However my whole family are drug addicts manipulative and abusive. They love living a toxic life. I never wanted to be that way. It's hard when your the black sheep. I'm proud she was able to make it out and I hope I can completely detach from my family at some point. Finances bring me back to them because I need to ask for help. Hopefully I'll be stable enough to not talk to them.
