The SoHum, or SoHam, meditation mantra is an ancient meditation technique also used in yoga. You will chant the word So when you breathe in and Hum when you breathe out (in your mind), which create a peaceful rhythm and helps emptying the mind and stop inner chatter and thoughts. SoHam is Sanskrit and means "I am That", which helps you connect with the universe and the world around, as you become one with everything, just like God told Moses "I am that I am".
The Sohum chant is also a great meditation technique for beginners, as it is simple and easy to do, and helps you focus and keep thoughts out of the mind during meditation. This is day 10 of the 30 Day Meditation Challenge for Beginners, and this is guided meditation exercise for relaxation and inner peace.

I love this 30 day challenge. It keeps me on track as I tick off the days. I found that this one, SOHUM, made me tense, irritated and light headed as I tried to match my breathing to So (breathe in) Hum (breathe out) I felt as if I was breathing double time. I will do this again without your voice and see if I get better results. I have found your voice so calming and therapeutic and am so grateful I found you. You are truly a blessing.

Great lesson as I managed to become aware of myself that I am both both and spirit, and that as a spirit I am in command of the universe. I am part of God since He is spirit. Beautiful and wonderfully made I am. Thank you very much for bringing me back to learn the truth of myself.

i enjoyed doing this when doing it by myself. was difficult to align my breathing with your soHum. my breathing was slower and deep and i felt light headed when trying to match it with the video because i could't breath deep enough. great meditation though!

Hi! Yes, this video won't match everyone's breathing rhythm, and it is simply meant as a guide. Each person should follow their own pace, as your body will tell you how fast or slow you need to go:-) But I am glad you enjoyed the exercise:-) Love and Light!

hi j! I like the program, but in this exercise my breath is twice as slow as your guidance and it was soo disturbing but I know it's impossible to fit the rhythm of everybody ;-) thanks a lot for this program

It is great that your breathing was much slower... that just means you are very relaxed:-) Yes, it is difficult to find one pace that works for everyone, but it is simply a guide, and you should definitely follow your own breathing pace. Kamila Boudova I had to train myself to have loner breaths if you don’t have a respiratory issue then you’ll get it with repetition

I loveeed it! I could feel the energy flowing through me! Incredibly energized right now! I had done this playlist before and i had enjoyed it so much. And recently I decided to clean and tune my chakras again. And i recall u had amazing videos. Cant wait to finish them again! Thank u so much for the work u do here!

Ugghhh a weird sound scared me outside and it ruined my meditation... But I think enjoyed this very much! It cleared my mind for a bit and made me ready to sleep! Thank you

So far, this one was difficult with saying Soham and interpreting it in I am that. Hopefully, next month it will be easier.

Does overthinking wil also be subsided by doing meditation. It's been sometime when I have had a sound sleep . Like, slept at night and woke up in the morning all by the law of nature ...

I think breathing is too fast. Perhaps a count w\breath in & out will feel more relax rather than rushing the breath. I think this is good but I think accounting number from the very beginning of the series would have been much more helpful then every time you take a breath trying to count what's what.

+Thimo Veldema You dont have to say "SO" this is the sound of your clear inhaling. and "HAM" is not the word but the like "HMM" when you are exhaling.

Meaning of Sohum is not clear to me. I am that universe. whats that mean. I think it means the power of entire universe is present in me, as human body contains all 5 primary components of the universe. Am I correct ? Jbittersweet please correct me and elaborate.

This is the first one where I felt physical impact, needle pricks behind my right shoulder and seconds later, warm feeling on the left side of my bladder. Thereafter...just peaceful. I love this meditation challenge.

When I meditate, and get in a very relaxed state I feel like my body disappears and my mind and thougts only exist like air, floating in the room. It is so relaxing and comfortable and every time I meditate this feeling comes, even if it is a 5 minute meditation exercise. Thank you so much, these meditation videos have helped my life. Hi Thank you so much for your program, it is really insightful and has helped in many ways! I am struggling however to quiet my mind, it feels like there's a blockage in it not allowing peace to enter...how does one reach this state? I have felt totally at ease before but I can't seem to reach it anymore...what can one do to get there? Please help...
