A great film prompting some great memories. The sheer variety of traction, including the cross-country HSTs was why I was happy to spend hour after hour at Doncaster. Plus the added bonus of a surprise visitor or departure from the Plant. The refurbished Class 50s looked amazing coming out of there.

Thats the Cummins engined, Voith gearbox powered 141 that is still preserved, 141113. Also nice view of Doncaster works test train coaches aswell.

Presumably on the Adwick shuttle. The others were withdrawn once the Airedale lines were electrified enabling 144s to be cascaded onto Harrogate, Knottingley and Huddersfield-Sheffield diagrams?

Great video.. what was with the 2 wrong line running freight... the 3/2 tone grey 47 on freightliner and 58 on mgr

There was no wrong line moves in the video, all platforms are bidirectionally signalled. The Frieghtliner 47 was on the Doncaster Europort to Tees Dock liner and the 58 on tubs would be heading down to Decoy Down Yard

Always pissed me off when the 141s went super little cheap units for adwick shuttle Huddersfield line Barton branch basic simple and paid for. compared with today foreign leased throwaway rubbish.
