I have been trying to take the soil food web microscope course for 6 years! And it has always been way out of my price range starting at 2000 dollars. Without land, a way to transport materials, or even money enough to get compost tested or buy a microscope how can people make this stuff? It's elitist to propose that anyone can do this. The fact that Elaine has not released these classes to the public is evil. She has the chance to share important life saving information with the world and she hoards it. Shame on her.

Cool! I wish I had a microscope and way to take a picture of my compost and or soil to send in. I get my soil tested but it would be nice to speak to a biologist about it and not just a Master Gardener from my local extension service who is limited by only a few remarks on a report the biologist put together based on what I paid to have tested. John, have you tried Bokashi anaerobic composting? Wendi Phan did a video on it a few years ago but I'd love to get your take on it. I've been doing it since I heard about it from Wendii and I'd love to find other ways I can use incorporate the compost and more uses for the spent grains (other than adding them to the food wastes). Thanks in advance

NIce stuff! Supposing humic is already in the soil to 'eradicate' chloramine, why add the humic to the water prior watering? In the bubbles, chloramine needs a week for just .1 evaporation!!! If what you say really works thats something

This is a great way to look at it, but it’s also not needed if this isn’t your style. You can wing it with compost, and it’ll work itself out. All this overthinking and science isn’t needed for everyone. I’ve been just fine making great compost that smells and looks amazing. You can just keep a general rule of adding twice as many browns as you do greens and besides rain just sprinkling some water on it every now and then.

I feel like videos like this scare some people into not gardening or buying stuff that has already been made from a big box store because this seems very difficult, logging and tracking and doing all of the data side of it.

Right off the bat, the dude starts spewing false statements. Nobody is putting glyphosate on their lawn, that would kill the lawn. Fertilizer isn't in your grass clippings unless you put fertilizer down and then immediately take a lawnmower and bag the clippings. Fertilizer granules will work their way down to the soil rather quickly, and after a short period of time, will not end up in the clippings.

They make it with a ton of effort. And they actually say it’s used for a starter for your own compost, and they’d rather you just make your own compost than buy theirs.
@myfishisbubbles
@myfishisbubbles 4 ай бұрын
It really isn’t. If you use it to make extracts, that 10lbs can last you for a looooooong time. Plus after you make your extract you can reinoculate the “spent” compost back and re use it after some time. They truly care about their inputs and the microbial diversity in their product. Look at it under a microscope and compare it to a compost or castings product sold at a big box store (I’ve done it) and you’ll instantly see why It’s well worth the money.
