I’ve been studying this for years while making my own compost. I lived in a wet area and each year my compost would drown and sour. This year in NM where it is hotter and drier I’ve used happy frog potting soil to fill my compost in an indoor container about 2x3x3’. The fungi are coming along so well and whenever I go to turn it over it remains fluffy and smelling like soil. I’m feeling much more confident about having less off gassing, slower digestion, and it finally not going “off.” I haven’t done JADAM successfully, so I can’t speak for it, but I will say giving up and focusing on aerobic function for now has been much more straightforward. Maybe later I will see what adding Bokashi will do, but for now I’m maintaining to work anaerobically. Materials are crumbling seamlessly.

Thanks for the great videos. The compost is my biggest thing I am working on. I know I run a bit dry. I still get compost with a 3 year cycle on the materials! I am adding more water to the pile this year. This year's garden is my best garden. The abundance nature can produce is amazing.

Him talking about what he sees under the microscope I agree whole heartedly. Biological focus over biochemical focus because ultimately we determine the behavior of the soil by cultivating the life in it.

I don't think your guest has done enough research to be considered and "expert" yet. Lots of things grow in an anaerobic environment. Look at the majority of sea life. Most everything in the ocean is growing without much of it. Look at the soil! All the organisms in the soil, much like the ocean or for that matter the cells that make up a living mammal on earth aren't exposed to as much oxygen as the mammal itself. The strong smell may just be a stage the compost is going through while it rids itself of wastes. Not all of health is a sweet smelling easy breezy experience. Sometimes we need to expel toxins which may not be a pleasant experience. This probably goes for compost as well.

This is a generative source of Facts gathered by Ai . This could be followed up with scientific research to back it up The Government has spent trillions and and so have other combined countries studying other planets as well as This One . "No, the majority of sea life does not grow in an environment without oxygen, but some areas of the ocean do have low oxygen levels that can impact marine life. Dissolved oxygen (DO) is essential for all aquatic life, which absorb it into their blood through their gills or body surface. Ocean water typically has 7-8 milligrams per liter (mg/L) of DO, but when levels drop below 4 mg/L, organisms may react. Areas with less than 0.2 mg/L of DO are called anoxic and can't support most life, while areas with no measurable DO are called hypoxic. These areas are often called "dead zones" because they can't support most marine life. Low oxygen levels can have a wide range of effects on marine life, including: Habitat compression: Reducing the quality and quantity of suitable habitat Reduced growth rate: Slowing down growth Visual function changes: Altering visual function Reproduction interference: Disrupting reproduction Increased disease susceptibility: Making organisms more susceptible to disease Different animals respond to low oxygen in different ways, which can lead to ecosystem-wide changes. For example, in anoxic zones, only microbes that can survive in that environment can live, and you won't find big fish or zooplankton. However, anoxic oceans are still full of life. The number and size of dead zones in the ocean and coastal waters is increasing due to climate change and nutrient loading. The Pacific and Indian Oceans have more severe oxygen minimum zones (OMZs) than the Atlantic Ocean. " a.i search result.

But nothing can compare to the sea or the ocean I'm just saying,, I can try to copycat the ocean but you never can just do it just right
@emilybh62556 ай бұрын
@@andrejones3711 I have loads of seeds from my Bokashi fermented plant based food wastes that sprout just after a few months or less of anaerobic fermenting in a five gallon bucket just after adding it to potting soil before adding it to gardens. That never or rarely happened with aerobic composting which took FAR LONGER to break down. Obviously there has to be something to anaerobic composting for the Asians to have been doing it for centuries. They are WAY ahead of westerners when it comes to growing food and understanding plants and nutrition and human health. Remember, the main emphasis of agriculture in the west is STILL all about mono-crop farming.

Agree with the recipe.( For the most part) I Use a lot of wood chips because it's hard to mess the moisture up. But A bucket or 2 full of dry straw makes a big difference. And I always add kelp Biochar and Azomite at the first flip. And MOST important is I always start it with a 5G bucket full of compost tea.🎉😊 thanks John

My ultimate question though… Are people seeing results using each one of these systems? All around people use Jadam and KNF and see how phenomenal results. It’s the same with the the SFW methodology. You are the ruler of your farm. Use what works for you. Stop the dogmatic talk about these systems. Just farm/garden and produce good products for people to consume 🤷🏽♂️🧑🏿🌾🫡

Will we see a video on how Catalyst Bioamendments prepares the aerobic compost that Danny Gross talks about? Would like to see how one can make it at home. Has John used their compost in his gardens? Can he show us the results. John has interviewed both Keisha and Casey Ernst, the owners. They both went through Dr. Elaine Ingram’s Soil Food Web School. She is not in favor of anaerobic composts and ferments.
@nathanielgraham6226 ай бұрын
your soil is only aerobic in the top layer of humus the layer below that is anaerobic and there are microbes living there too. So IMO you need both fyi my beautiful oak leaf chicen manure composting time and #of turns has been halved since using #EM1 #bokashi in the process

Ferment in your indoor grow space to create CO2 and help your indoor. I also add all the extra or by-product to my compost. Then I feed that compost to my worms and use that vermi compost. Back in my garden.

I was thinking what is he doing with the materials after he ferments them. Because I make some ferments when we have to much of something and it has seeds. I ferment first and the rest is composted. Nothing is wasted

Plant roots need oxygen/ gas exchange to thrive. Some plant root can survive low gas exchange conditions but growth is always imparied. A bad smell is an indication of an anaerobic environment, you don't thrive in a sewer and either do plants
