So this was just over 100 years of rule. Initially, Muslim teachings allowed the Caliphate to have support with the leadership. However with the encroaching Europeans and the slave trade from the north and the west the Caliphate collapsed. Good history lesson.

There’s a a whole chapter in the Quran ch:31 sura Luqman which is about a black man Luqman. The prophet Muhammad peace be upon said take from the blacks(Abyssinians) for surely there are 3 from among them that are from the leaders of the people of paradise Luqman the wise, al-najashi, and Bilal the prayer caller. Imam Suyuti born in 1445 Cairo Egypt. wrote a book called raising the status of the Ethiopians. Also ibn al-jawzi born in Bagdad in 1114 wrote a book called tanwir al-ghabash fi fadl al-Sudan wa al-habash

Dan Fido clearly was a major player in partnering with the European to hunt capture and sell blacks as "slaves" who were not Muslim. We cannot change those facts. He also called those blacks as outsiders in his writings. No surprise Nigeria never has done a public apology or invited blacks in the diaspora to Nigeria. Because the same people then rule modern day Nigeria
