Since Afghanistan’s fall to the Taliban, girls have been prohibited from attending school beyond sixth grade. SOLA, the School of Leadership Afghanistan, is still teaching its students, though, after a daring evacuation to safety.

The Taliban are the legitimate government of Afghanistan and anyone who breaks the country's rules should be severely dealt with according to the law. We in the West have no right to interfere in the domestic workings of Afghanistan. We don't like it when Russians and others interfere in our national sovereign rights. No more reporting of what the Taliban are doing and no more reporting of Afghans protesting their governments policies. It is a domestic issue and nothing to do with us.

@@spolch9482 Yes they are, not all human societies are equal as they all have different views on them. A society's government mandates what people have a right to and what they do not have a right to. You would think that freedom of speech and expression are human rights, but we here in Scotland have just been told there is no such thing as freedom of speech and expression as our government has just banned freedom of speech and expression. In some US states, life isn't even a human right, as the state has the right to take your life away if you break certain laws. In Afghanistan women do not have a right to be educated unless the government sanctions it. All this shows that there is nothing we have that cannot be removed and therefore everything is controlled in one way or another by our politicians.

I'm so grateful to the Rwandans for their compassion and support for these young women's education. It's so disappointing to see the heartbreaking regression of Afghanistan society at the hands of the Taliban. May each and every one of those girls be successful!

To the girls of SOLA....you are exemplary young women, and so delightful, and dedicated! Much respect to you. Here in America, where children, more often than not, take so much for granted and have little respect for education, I wish that all 3rd graders would be required to watch this interview of you all. (My family was well off when I was born. When I was about 10 years of age, my father took me out to a big farm in Michigan in the summer, where poor laborers worked the fields, living 2 to 3 families in 3-room cinder block houses, with their children! It brought into great clarity for me the privilege my parents hard work had afforded me, and I am now 70 years of age, and have never forgotten or taken it for granted.) You young ladies epitomize the value we all should place on our privilege of education. Blessings to you in your lives.

@@mephistophelean I expressed my appreciation of education in general. Even going so far as to criticize American children for their lack of appreciation. These young women are (or were) NOT living in Afghanistan when this documentary was made. I offered no observation about government AT ALL, yours OR mine. As far as interference into Afghan "domestic workings," let me state that I did NOT approve of OR want my beloved country going to yours....for any reason. From one Westerner to another, isn't it nice though that we live in complete freedom to learn and teach, not just one train of thought, but of all. God bless.

Well at the end of the day, if women want to make a change in afghanistan then they are going to have to get violent because since the dawn of humanity, violence was always the sole way to determine who is in charge and how things are run, and even though in a civilized society where violence isn't necessary all the time to achieve a change, it still all stems from violence and who and what ideology or goals will dominate the other. But women aren't likely to want to get violent.

I served in Afghanistan in the American military for a year and saw the horrors the innocent suffered. There were babies and young children with limbs amputated in the military hospital. They stared at me with expressions of shock and total incomprehension. Why did they deserve this? It was one of the most unconscionable crimes of this century for the United States to abandon the Afghan people to the Taliban. Both Trump and Biden deserve to burn in hell and be vilified forever in history for this betrayal. I respect and wish the best for the staff and all the students of this school. I really hope that someday you will take back your country from the Taliban. Many people worked very hard to give democracy a chance there. Please do not let that be in vain just because of a few evil, corrupt politicians and an utterly ignorant, uneducated, stupid people in America. Please become more educated than the Americans so that someday you might guide America back to a moral path.

I understand subjective experiences can change one's view even if distorted in essence of the holistic view, but you need to understand Afghanistan does not as a whole islamic population want a liberal puppet government installed the same way you would not want the opposite of that in your country. In fact, Obama used more drones and bombings than any other and he should be held responsible. I know you will probably never change your stances due to the liberal west sending you to westernize and secularize, and support the liberal puppet government on an islamic population where you and others in the mix experienced tragedies due to yours and your soldier friends actions that is not all on you but those who sent you. But you need to understand the first point here I made regardless of your subjective experiences. Go and re-read it.

In Islam, women have a right to seek knowledge and an education. What Taliban srw doung has absolutely nothing to do with Islam. The leaders and Islamic scholars of Pakistan , Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Turkey, United Arab emirates, Qatar, Egypt and many other countries all sent out messages on social media condemning that Taliban are refusing girls education and closing down girls school. Sayung the girls and women have a right to education in Islam.

Asking the 7th poorest country to educate all people equally that also happened to be conservative and just defeated 2 superpowers, while the international community is in active economic war with said country, is the equivalent of starving people then blame them for eating unhealthy.

@@banonasar164 you don't know do you.! A lot of these sayings of the prophet that Muslims like to quote end up being either just folk tales or the lowest grade of hadeeth. If you are talking about the one that says "seek knowledge ,even as far as china" , please know that it is classified as Da'if, that means weak, likely fabricated.

I think the SOLA foundation is a way for U.S to keep eyes on what's happening in Afghanistan. Keep in mind Afghanistan borders Iran. There has been some interest in going to w@r with Iran in recent years.
