this video is like a paid commercial (maybe it is) for a centralized blockchain that want to pose as decentralized

When he said Solana is a decentralized blockchain... kinda couldn't stop laughing!!! Solana is a good chain but decentralized is something to be debated.
@FrOsTyBeAsT1172 жыл бұрын
What do you base that on? Independent surveys of the blockchain mostly show it's one of the MORE decentralized ones.

I haven't looked into Solana, but from my logic if an OS vulnerability is possible, then the network must not be decentralized. Bitcoin can't be taken down or changed with and OS vuln, it's constantly being checked and updated by millions of computers across the world, no single computer or small group would be have an effect on the network as a whole.
@kevinvargas43082 жыл бұрын
That's true. All it comes from the white-paper of the two projects. In Bitcoin we have the Proof of Work (as we all know) but in the other hand Solana has Proof of history (as some of you know) and this technical characteristic makes Solana more centralized than Bitcoin, so in the theory Solana can be take down easier than Bitcoin in terms of OS vulnerabilities .

Just because Visas system can theoretically do 24K doesn't meant that's indicating of how much a centralised system can handle, that's a great old crypto myth in general. For one Visa has reported handling up to 56K transactions per second, and you can't really compare Solana transactions to Visa transactions anyways, one reason would be because on "Web 2" you don't need to use Visa all fking the time. On "web 2" a single PostgreSQL database for example can handle almost 400K TPS on a single instance. In the real world Apple handles millions of transactions per second with their globally distributed Cassandra system. And in the real world Solana can't handle 700K TPS as they did only their test network, running only in one AWS Region.

Solana is a joke, it is highly centralized even though they pretend they are not.
@FrOsTyBeAsT1172 жыл бұрын
That's interesting because numerous independent surveys and studies of the blockchain have shown It's actually one of the more decentralized ones so I'm curious what you're basing that statement on.

So the guy explained the three types of vulnerabilities in the example of web 2.0 and said that the same applies to his work with web 3.0 on the blockchain. Whoa, what's the difference then? Why not make the ad more informative and interesting. There is no hate, the more people in cryptocurrency the better, even if it is Solana )

Solana is so decentralised that one bot can take down their infrastructure. The internet was built decentralised with so many Autonomous Systems around the globe but crypto bros in their arrogance just ignore this and aim to centralise people on their platform.
