Good to see your keeping busy. I had to laugh at you spending hours trying to decide on the layout. I'm completely hopeless at that and almost always end up wishing I'd done things differently.

Watching with interest and good to see its along nicely. I’m still undecided whether to go along the lithium route though, it’s still quite complicated all the charging and protection stuff

I like the thought given to the layout, nice and neat. I’ve debated whether to add an inverter but I can’t really see a use for one tbh, maybe because I try and convert/use low power stuff on USB or 12v. What kind of use do you see your inclusion of one being used for John?

The inverter will be used for charging laptops, and maybe running small power tools away from the mains. I'm only including it to increase the functionality of the Solar Accumulator, same with the 5.5 x 2.5mm power jacks. I'm currently looking for a cheap QC3 USB for it too, so it'll be even more useful. As for the actual power source. I still believe the Lithium iron batteries are more useful, even though they are more complicated to use. They store so much more energy compared to any other alternative. I like lead acid batteries for my workshop power, simply because it's cheap and easy to use. However for a portable power supply, lead acid isn't a great option. It's heavy, and has a limited storage capacity for its weight and size, so for me Lithium iron wins, hands down. It's pretty easy to use, as long as a BMS is included, especially if it has a charge input facility too.
