What about sodium batteries? CATL company is launching sodium batteries to replace lithium because low cost and no contamination. Please let me know your next video talkinb about this

The batteries aren't limited to the four types that we've mentioned, I've just talked about the most popular ones. I'll think about the idea though, thanks!

Is it true that AGMs can be discharged down to 25%? I always thought it was 50%.

This is an often overlooked aspect of solar renewable energy.

Sorry to say lots of misleading information here! A classic lead acid starter battery should never be discharged to 50% or more - it will be damaged severly! PbSO4 takes a much bigger space than pure Pb or PbO and the frame surface will degrade when discharged that deep often! Lead acid batteries die in most cases by hard sulfation which happens when discharged too much and standing uncharged for a longer period (some months are enough...). Coulombic efficiency normally is much less than 80% - often 70%. For a good Li-ion this goes up far beyond 90% and can reach 99+%! And no cheap lead acid will live for 1000 or even 1500 cycles - its already good when it lives for 500 cycles! LiFePO can reach 5000+ cycles if handled properly!

Hello. I'm not talking about starter batteries but deep-cycle ones. We mention that a lead-acid battery should not be discharged below 50% and it's very fragile and dies quickly without proper maintenance. The efficiency of lead-acid batteries varies and I usually see it ranging from 70% to 80%, yes, but agm are better in that regard than wet cell. i dunno about cheap ones but afaik good lead-acid battery actually can live for a long time if you treat it nicely. it's just that no one ever does. Li-ion batteries efficiency also varies - f.e. Tesla Powerwall 2 has 90% efficiency. Concerning lifespan of LifePo4 - you are correct, if it's a good one. Overall, your numbers and mine are close enough.

@@a1solarstore Gel based lead acid batteries are known to last 20 years of daily cycles when used correctly in a climate controlled environment.
