Solar Cooking - Worth it?! GoSun Go Solar Cooker Review and How To

Wow, different perspectives... I completely love my GoSun Go. There are larger sizes if you want to cook more, but I use mine for kayak camping so it's the perfect size. I can fit 10 Aidells meatballs in it. I can make four biscuits at a time, so it's perfect for my husband and myself. I skip the rubber thingies entirely and just clean the tray itself. LIving in fire prone California, no flames allowed in late summer camping at all & this is a great alternative.

It has a small sun dial on the bottom so you can get it in the maximum sun position...try reading the manual. I agree about having a pocket for the plastic brace, in the end i tied mine to the case with some string.

I think the sun dial should come separate. So you're not having to spin the whole unit to figure it out. Maybe Im just lazy...

All you really need is a watch or nothing if you're familiar with sun positions. Sun travels East to West touring the South. So at noon Sun is at highest position and in the South. You can very easily figure out the NEWS when you know one out of 4 directions.

Why on earth do you put this instable construction on that tilted log? A little wind is enough to let it fall and break. That is flirting with disaster, just put in on the ground. I try to use it for boiling water in a survival situation (prepping); if you manage to boil 3 liter of water a day, you don't need a water filter and you can drink coffee and tea if you like without using fuel. But since the Gosun Go only holds 400 ml of water, you would need to boil 8 portions of water a day. That is a lot of heating and the day must be very sunny. Still, if I use two or three, it might work.

Yeah it still appears JANKEY! The only thing they got going for it is the black glass tube. At least they got it down to a small foldable purse. The mirror looks small. But I guess they did their homework in that department. I'm going to make one with a mylar film over construction paper. The clam shell is easy too. But that black glass...... Hmmmmm..... Bet I can buy one for lot lot cheaper than these guys are selling for. Gougers I'm sure.

Why did you not put the water in the silicon food pods to boil the water at least you would have a safer way to remove the silicon thingies to pour the water in to the cup ...

I think the main reason would be that you can heat up a lot more water if you're just using the glass tube. Also the trays are pretty flimsy and thin, so Im not sure they would be easy to hold when the water is super hot.

I'm offended you're using fossil fuels to make this video about using solar instead of fossil fuels to cook with! Just kidding! 🤣 I can't imagine ever needing a "stove" that cooks a whopping two hotdogs at a time! This looks like a gadget for people who buy gadgets for no other reason then to buy a gadget.
