We LOVE LOVE LOVE our GoSun Sport! We don't have an oven on our boat - only a stovetop, and we've been able to cook gluten-free bread, gluten-free cupcakes, potatoes, cornbread, hard boiled eggs, vegetables, pork tenderloin, curry chicken - the list goes on. We also can easily heat up leftovers (we don't have a microwave, either). We plan to take and build a cooking platform to attach it to our stern rail. The ONLY challenge we've had is that we regularly need to tighten the horizontal screws with an Allen wrench to keep it from falling over and closing, but GoSun acknowledged the problem and sent us a repair kit (consisting of an Allen wrench :-)).

Good review, had pro's and con's. I'm impressed with the fact that after a year of use, and salt water washings, there is little corrosion. I remember watching the brownies disappear...

Very good review. Silicone cups work great. I agree the area near the opening gets less heat. You can get the silicone cups from GoSun or Amazon. The cups I use fit one egg, 8 fit in the the tray and a muffin just add water pack fills them nice. Even on surface there is wind. Mine has been blown off the top of my van and survived. Needed some bungees to keep it open during wind.

I think it is a great idea because it is free energy. Plus if you run out of propane you can still cook. Also some places propane is expensive. So the cost would offset itself with free energy and not having to source propane on shore. Time and hassle hauling your tank ashore looking for a refill that is time money wasted. Good idea I enjoyed your videos!!

Great review! We were curious how these work. We are sailing in the Pacific Northwest so maybe not enough sun and too much rain. But would be nice in the summer when fire ban is on. Hi guy's I have been using on of these GoSun stoves for a while now. The only downside is that is't volume is just to small for 4 persons. But otherwise it"s great to have.Fair winds from SV Aotearoa 1 on Pemba Island Kenia.

Good information, I've never heard of the 'GoSun' before this video. This product seems to be a winner. Pricing is a bit high. Now, can you maybe make a cooking guide of all the things you've cooked, tried and the success or failure of those? With a specialty Item such as the GoSun, there are tricks you've learned that will help those buying or considering the GoSun...I'm sure GoSun would be happy to purchase and include the guide for other GoSun Cookers out there.

Audio is only coming out of my right speaker. It also sounds rather tinny. So make sure you make your audio track stereo in post production so it comes out both speakers. This is doubly important when you do a sponsorship video like this, so that your sponsor gets a professional video. Love the show

I think that you definately deserve to get all 3 Gosun stove versions brand new. Maybe the big one for your parents as a gift, the medium one to replace the one on your boat, and the small one to stick in your backpack when going island exploring :) It really is way overpriced. But I thinkg it's a huge MUST for especially all sailors

Yes. You can also add on other useful accessories like silicone tray deciders or wax paper sheets.

Not a stupid question at all. I'm sure it's possible. The GoSun get up to 500° in full sun. Plenty of heat to boil sea water. Maybe we'll give that a try one fo these days.

I think you have to take the red skins off of the peanuts, and likely shuffle them occasionally. It would be great to see this actually work. Hi Guys! If you recommend it, it must be good! Truth is, I've been thinking about getting one since you first showed us yours some time ago. The only thing that held me back was the capacity. I'm really intrigued with the "new" larger grill model. Any chance you're going to be testing one of those out? I'd really like to hear your opinion before I spend that kind of money! Thanks for another year of great videos and adventures. I tell everyone about your channel and encourage them to watch from the beginning. It's just amazing what you've done with that boat. On a separate note, do you think you'll ever put safety stanchions on the boat? Or do you feel that you don't need them or that they'll be in the way. Yes, we'll be testing the grill soon. But we might have to wait a few months before it ships (they sold out already). As for the lifelines. Before we cross the Atlantic next spring, we plan on installing a solid SS rail around the deck. The Caribbean is basically day sailing and you can pick and choose your weather very accurately so we've never felt the need to have rails or lifelines so far. We don't miss them at all. But before we spend 2-3 weeks in open ocean, we'll definitely be installing something.

Since I'm older and disabled I don't think I'll ever make an atlantic crossing and my boat is way to small for that too! But I would like to cruise the east coast and carribean so I think I'm not going to worry to much about them. Since I'm retired I do not have any deadlines to make and I can take my time anywhere. Dan as always you make good sense, I learn something from each and everyone of your video. Believe it or not, I make notes of places you go that I want to go and places to stay away from. Did you mean, as you said, "it is half as slow" (meaning foods bake faster than they do in a home oven and will cook in half the time) ? Or, I think you meant to say it is twice as slow or at least that cooking will take double the time to cook as it does in a home oven or at least half again as long (1.5 times as long). That bit of info was a little confusing.

Haha! Yeah. It really depends on the oven. A boat oven is usually very slow to cook. But your oven at home is faster. Baking a baguette at home maybe takes 15-20 min. In the GoSun it take 30-45 min with full sun. And in a traditional solar oven it would take hours (if it cooked at all) The big panel solar ovens don't usually get hot enough to bake things. They're more like a slow cooker. But the GoSun gets up passed 500° on a sunny day.

the largest profit margins is apparently this companys (gosun) goal, you can purchase these same kind of vaccume tube solar cookers over seas for 1/4 of the price. To bad they dont sell for a modest profit margine, it would be much more popular here is the states and greatly impact the enviorment positivly, shame profit seems to be the bigest drive for this company
