I saw the eclipse in 2017 and one thing that i will never forget was the shadows of thousands of tiny eclipses cast off the trees onto the sandy ground. Looking up was amazing but also looking down was so unforgettable. Their is a name for these 1000's of tiny eclipse shadows but it escapes my mind at the moment

@@TheJapanChannelDcom , makes more sense that an intelligent, omnipotent being vastly superior to ordinary man, designed and created this obviously complex universe and all of it's life forms. Makes a lot more sense than a mysterious "big bang " for whatever reason occurred and set into motion an orderly arrangement of complex physics and life . Evolution is as likely to have happened as would an explosion in a print shop result in the creation of a set of encyclopedia Britannica . One that automatically updates itself periodically. As a side note, Darwin himself conceded to the existence of God ,the creator and denounced Evolution theory as " absurd". Furthermore, I don't know the kind of person you are, meaning whether or not you're good or bad , honest or deceitful, however, it's a fact that Evolutionist in general reject creationism, or intelligent design because they don't live righteously in the eyes of God and they don't like the idea of accountability to a God. Nor do they like the notion of ultimately being judged by God for their actions in this life because they expect to be punished .Therefore, the Evolutionists and atheists deny God's existence completely. Proven fact is that those who don't believe in God aren't as friendly ,charitable or as good to others as those who do believing God . Lesson : people who believe they're accountable to a God and will face a day of judgement for their actions in life tend to be better people than those who don't believe in God.

There will likely be another reason for the last eclipse. As the sun dies, it eventually enlarges, to be larger than the moon's image.
@thegreatestamericanalive
@thegreatestamericanalive 3 жыл бұрын
While it is true that the sun will begin to enlarge as its nuclear fuel begin to run out, the time frame for that to happen is in the billion years ballpark. By the time the sun were to become large enough in relation to the moon that we will be having at that time, the moon will appear approx. 50% apparent size in the sky compared to its apparent size right now. So while the moon's increasing distance from the Earth will eventually be the culprit of the ending of total solar eclipses, the two time frames in question will have many hundreds of millions of years in-between them.

If the moon is moving away from the earth what does that mean for future eclipses? And just how much of a coincidence or anomaly is it that the moon and sun look the same size in the sky at this present moment?
@rockwithyou2006
@rockwithyou2006 Жыл бұрын
347500000 centimeters is the diameter of the moon. Whereas it only moves 3.78 centimeters away from us every year. So you can be assured it won't affect future eclipses in anyway.
@noqualms8560
@noqualms8560 Жыл бұрын
@rockwithyou2006 I'm too lazy to do the math but there has to be a point in future that the band in the ring of fire gets noticeably thicker as the moon is moving away. Similarly there must have been a point in time when the moon was closer and the band was thinner or maybe not even visible at all? Or am i wrong in thinking this?

@rockwithyou2006 thanks for replying. I'd love to know just how rare it is for a planet to have a moon and a sun to have the same dimensions in the sky causing this ring of fire during an eclipse? I'm guessing it is not common at all and whether it has some hidden significance?

I find it to be incredibly... _coincidental?_ ...that the moon is visually to us on Earth the same size as the sun. _Crazy coincidence!_
@thegreatestamericanalive
@thegreatestamericanalive 3 жыл бұрын
It is only a coincidence currently. If you go far enough into the past to when the moon was closer to the Earth than it is today, the moon would have been so large in the sky that an eclipse would have covered not only the photosphere of the sun, but the corona as well. Basically, everything would have been blocked from view entirely. Additionally, far in the future the moon will be too far away to cover the whole visible disk of the sun, and we will no longer receive total solar eclipses. HOWEVER...currently we live in a time of Earth's history where the math for the situation is this: The sun is 400x farther away from us than the moon, and at the same time the moon is 400x smaller than the sun. Due to both of these situations occurring at the same time, both the sun and the moon appear to an observer on the surface of the Earth to be the same apparent size in the sky. This cosmic coincidence has an estimated lifetime of approx. 800 million years. Since the Earth is over 4 billion years old then, YES, anyone alive during the present time is lucky enough to be around during this window where the eclipses are possible. (Side note/Bonus fact: The ring system of the planet Saturn is not a permanent feature of the planet. Due to the very small amounts of air friction that the ring material experiences as it orbits Saturn the gravity of the planet will eventually cause the ring system to collapse into Saturn's upper atmosphere disappearing forever. Time frame for this to event to occur: 400 millions years from now. So right around the time when Earth will forever lose total solar eclipses, Saturn will also lose its rings. How's THAT for coincidence??)
@mbgrafix
@mbgrafix 3 жыл бұрын
@@thegreatestamericanalive I am happy to see that you recognized what I too recognized...that those who play off the "coincidence" due to the fact that at one time past and future, the sizes were/will-be visually different...but that is irrelevant, because just as you stated, the incredible aspect to this "coincidence" is the extremely precise timing for man to exist...to witness it...and to marvel at it for its scientific beauty...and also, its poetic beauty! ( _personally...I do not believe in coincidences_ ).
