I came across your channel by looking for info about telescopes. Your old videos that I have seen are very helpful :)

Thank you! I know it has been a while. I hope you are able to observe them! I had trouble with Mercury this morning - bring binoculars if you have them.

Happy to see more from you, I assume this is from the location you showed a while back? Here in Scandinavia, we don't really get the opportunity for these wonderful family portraits - the sun is just never far enough under the horizon, and rises right on the heels of Mercury! But as a compensation, we get a fair amount of noctilucent clouds!

And you see more aurorae too!! This was not from the new property, but just up the road from our house/property. It is on a small ridge so I thought that might help us better see Mercury. Still only managed to spot it with binoculars.

@@Eyesonthesky But great that you managed to spot it! I only saw Mercury for the first time around its last greatest elongation, during its evening apparition. The aurorae are wonderful - I'm just far enough south that it's a challenge to see them, but I've had actual overhead aurora once! We also just moved, getting a darker northern horizon, so I expect to see more in the coming winters!

Hi, there! How long before the sunrise was this?
@Eyesonthesky2 жыл бұрын
50 minutes before my local sunrise. 45 to 30 minutes before sunrise is usually ideal to see Mercury, which should get brighter over the next 4 or 5 mornings.
