Glad to see someone else in love with Solar guitars. I pulled the trigger on their baritone explorer and I had an immediate connection with it; I bought another one and their baritone bass and I can say these are some mega high quality instruments !

I have the same guitar, A1.6 from one of the first production runs and it is a great guitar and I love the Evertune bridge. I bought a 2nd Solar the S1.6 green guitar and it was horrible and was a nightmare to get it fixed and eventually returned. As much as I like my A1.6, I won't buy another Solar until there is a US distributor with a good return policy since Solar really doesn't have a return policy and I'm not willing to take the gamble again. Great vid as always man.

having a nice guitar makes me want to play more....a lot of effort went into the instrument and I owe it to the instrument to play it

I just recently got a 2021 Solar A1.6C and I gotta say its the best guitar I've had, and the fretwork is extremely good.

Great video Nick. As you know I have 5 Solar guitars and plan to buy a few more in 2022. They rekindled my love for playing and I’ve been writing a lot again too. I love the necks on them. 2 of mine are gloss necks and they are just as nice to play as my satin necks. Have a great NYE and let’s hope 2022 rocks 😎🎸🤘

Loving the step up in video quality. The b-roll, the documentary style commentary.. it definitely adds a unique element to your channel. I had a solar guitar and love how it felt, but it was absolutely riddled with QC issues. The evertune bridge was completely unplayable. Several emails with evertune couldn’t fix the issue, so it ended up getting sent back to Solar. I’d love to get another one day.. once I feel more comfortable with the company’s QC. I’ve heard a lot of similar reviews to mine within the last year or so

I think the wave of fanboys spamming about solar guitars kinda took away from how good these guitars actually are. I have come to associate them with clout chasers and braindead youtube thumbnails myself and I can only think that's why some people get turned off by Solar now. I had a 2.6 baritone from the first year they released them and it has been a fantastic guitar so far, no issues except for the inlay becoming yellow for some reason, and I can say I agree with what you said about the tuning pegs. Everything else, from tuning stability and playability to the sound, has been very serviceable. I am very proud to say it has been the only guitar (aside from a Steinberger) which I bought new. I don't know how the recent stuff is personally, but I heard good things from a friend who got a bunch of new ones, so I can only say with certainty that the first runs were solid for sure.

I have three. They are all killer. I give zero shits about who’s trying to sell what here on KZbin. Ola is a guitar player designing guitars for guitars players. The company is in its infancy. Shits gonna happen. Improvements will be made. I support the product because I’ve had good luck with them. It’s as simple as that. I generally try to not be cynical about these types of things. The marketing strategy is simple for a small company like Solar. When you don’t have much/any money for advertising, you have to put the guitar in as many peoples hands as possible. I won’t knock a guy for trying to grow and build a business.

I’m always super impressed by the production quality on your videos Nick. Nice work and great review. Random question: what program do you use for your drums? I always find they sound great in your videos.

Hey Nick, I discovered your vids from looking for Solar A1.6 reviews. I'm about to order the Fanned Fret version with the Hipshot bridge I think. Thanks for this video makes me a little more confident in going ahead as I was debating whether to splurge for a Strandberg or save 2k lol. Still a little unsure whether to go for the Fanned Frets and Hipshot or the normal frets with evertune and fishmans... Will probably be a last minute cart choice lol. Cheers.

Solar spoiled me on specs. I have had about 5 of them over the years. I basically spec'd my mayones regius like a solar 1.6 model. I have an Aviator custom due to be delivered next week, and a Mayones Duvell due the end of this year but I'm grabbing a v1.6 sometime this upcoming year and hopefully a baritone. You really can't get a guitar with these specs and quality at this price.

Have you had issues with the fretboard cracking or Solar logo peeling? I have a 2021 A1.6FB and the fretboard is cracking, frets are sprouting and cracking the wood, and the logo is peeling. Luckily the guitar plays fine and sounds great but I regret buying it now. What a shame.

No issues at all, and I have three Solars. I also keep my space at a proper humidity, and treat and clean my fretboards
@svtcobra6662 жыл бұрын
@@NickHillMakesMusic that's good to hear. I don't get it then. I keep my Solar in the same location and conditions as my other guitars and it's the only one with issues.
