Just got a new subscriber for this video, great input, man. It seems simple but actually it’s not. We tend to overthink things to reach that TONE in our heads. And we never consider that the way to reach it is by cutting things on parameters, instead of adding parameters and more and more effects. Thank you!

Excellent idea for a series; thanks Nick. For 20 years, I'm my "First Call" Luthier; ha! Honestly, super fun and inspirational to work on my gear. Recent project: under the guidance of staff from Taylor Guitars, completed a neck reset. Amazing results, thank-yous around for everyone from Taylor for walking me through the process on my "forever acoustic" 314CE. Went so well did a victory lap and upgraded to new frets and installed locking tuners--yes, locking tuners on an acoustic. Love 'em. Looking forward to your guitar maintenance posts here. Thanks again! P.S. Don't get me started telling the story of my Partscaster--countless hours of fun.

I totally agree with your attitude about the music. I think the commitment to your equipment that you have you don’t need to look at the next shiny object. Sure it’s fun to get new gear now and then but what does it get you. You’re always tweaking and trying to learn and never get any real music made. I bought my helix eight years ago I think And I didn’t know what to do with it. I finally was planning on it and played it through a stereo and got some good sounds but I didn’t know how to do snapshots and so one time I got injured and I was home and I started watching KZbin videos now I feel like I know how to get around in my helix really well nowand I’ve decided not to look at all the other things including sampling other amps whatever you call it auditioning amps don’t need it. The helix does everything perfectly for my taste and I agree with you. Thanks for a good video. Lots of luck in your musical career

Thanks for the thoughtful response. You hit it on the head as far as I’m concerned and I think that’s ok if it doesn’t align with other folks. Some guys just buy guitars and don’t ever play them all. the difference is minimum, like 5/10%, in my opinion from the sample the titan seems to have a bit more of nasal tone and some more energy in the lower mids, therefore paradoxally the SD seems to have a bit more clarity, but I know that there is also quite a big difference in output (even if these samples are obviously level matched), so under the hands it must feel definitely different (the titans have a higher output).

@@NickHillMakesMusic IR (Impulse Response) He don´t have to share his Presets, with a Tone-Matching via Cubase or Logic, you can copy any original Guitar Sound from your favorite CD´s, provided the Guitar plays a few seconds alone without any other Instrument. Then you capture the EQ Curve (Tone Match) and export to IR File (WAV) With an IR Loader (wich is build in into the POD GO) you can load them, put an Amp from Pod Go for instance "Archetype Lead, and there you go

Does the helix LT have enough input/outputs to support this pedal?
@NickHillMakesMusic26 күн бұрын
Yep, The LT has FX loops
@RyanWright28 күн бұрын
Been using a Helix LT for years now. It was great when I bought it... now, so many free updates later, it is just even better. It is the "motherboard" of my recording rig, and is my favorite option for playing live too. I have a Two Notes Opus, I have a Tonex and Tonex One, and they are awesome as well, and I do integrate them with the Helix (or Pod Go sometimes), but neither of them can quite pull of the "grab and go 1 pedal" rig as well as the Helix.

Hi Nick. I have a question.... In the chorus ambience part, is there a reason you only play the low 7th string insted of a full drop power chord? And is it because of the tuning?
@NickHillMakesMusicАй бұрын
What a great question. It's strictly my personal preference on the timbre and sound of that note on the low string versus on the next string up. Same note, the one on the low strings combined with the bend just sounds cooler to me and feels more fun to play. Thanks for the question and view!

HELP ME! I'm about to buy this pedal and I'm currently running a helix LT straight to my speakers...what's the best way to set this pedal up with my helix?

Pedal to fx loop. Fx loop before amp block. Tweak to taste.
@cjc2611Ай бұрын
@NickHillMakesMusic so guitar->pedal->effects loop->preset/amp on Helix-> speaker?
@NickHillMakesMusicАй бұрын
It sounds like you may be asking me now the Helix works in general. If you aren’t able to surmise the process, start with some simpler helix videos. You’ll need an IR or speaker block before you go “out to your speakers,” otherwise you’ll just get raw amp sounds which are awful. You’ll get it!

On the Warmoth website, when you are building a body they have an option to move the neck pickup route for the 24 fret necks, guitar fetish doesn’t have the option, so the Warmoth neck worked just fine with the tele HH body from guitar fetish? I hope so because I want to build something very similar

@@NickHillMakesMusic I’ve watched it 3 times now, bud. I’m not talking about the neck pocket fitting.
