Few questions: Can you turn off the inverter? (I only need it sometimes) Can the inverter be turned off via the wireless stick? is there a option to manage it by cable? On another note, mind the fuse: in the manual I found this: "SPF 3000TL LVM-24P / Maximum amperage 141A / Recommended battery capacity 200Ah". Thanks !

This Growatt high frequency, transformerless inverter is great for powering resistive loads and small electronics but it won't last very long powering inductive loads like power tools, refrigerators, motors, AC units, compressors or microwave ovens. High frequency inverters like these were never designed for powering high surge loads. You may get lucky and this inverter might start a few of these inductive loads when the inverter is new, but as the inverter ages, 1 1/2 to 2 years down the road, the inverter will fail sooner, rather than later with continuous use with inductive loads. I've repaired inverters for a living for the past 23 years and one thing that I've learned is that the surge current that's generated by these inductive loads will damage the MOSFETs (metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors) in this inverter and will basically brick the inverter because the hourly shop rates for troubleshooting, testing and replacing all those MOSFETs will exceed the value of the inverter. It would be cheaper to simply replace the unit. A much better choice is one of Growatt's low frequency transformer based inverters. You'll be much happier 10 years down the road.

I heard one of the drawbacks of the All in One is that they consume a lot of power with the inverter always in standby move. From what I heard you need an additional 500 watts to cover the standby power consumption.

To make the 24 Volts, we put two 12V batteries in Series, hooking the negative of one battery to the Positive of the other, then taking the 24V off the two terminals left. In order to hook up two more 12V batteries, you connect them together in Series, then hook up the two sets of two in parallel by hooking the 24V terminals of each set together, positive to positive and negative to negative. There are many DIY channels that show how, including DIY Solar with Will Prowse.

Loaded question 400 watts pv is at peak pv power. most areas have about 5 to 6 hours of solar hours. that's different from sun hours. then your voltage and watts must be figured out to get the amps for the battery charging. every set up is different. I have 12,000 watts solar. with 100 amps per hour of charging capability into a 600 amp hour battery bank. It takes until 2 or 3 in the afternoon to recharge my batteries.

Same goes for when there isnt "enough" watts in the PV, like the solar makes 500W, the load needs 1000W but instead of taking 500W from solar and 500W from the batteries it takes 200W from the PVs and 800W from the batteries..... There IS a setting that is supposed to shut off the inverter if there's not much power being used, but most of us folks using them seem to prefer to just disable that setting, as the inverters don't seem to want to 'wake up' after shutting down. Other folks may have better knowledge than I, though.

Mine won't charge past 26.6 if I tell it I'm using lithium batteries...I' m going to try the AGM setting and see if that will charge to the 28.8 that Will Prowse recommends. Would love to know how the battery charge went for you. Great video otherwise. Thanks!

I set ours to User 2, which is recommended for non rack lithium batteries. (We have battleborns). I was able to set everything to what I needed to. Do not that settings 19 and 20, (Charging Voltage and float Voltage), will be set to the same 28.8V when you set one or the other.

You used #2 AWG and 3/8" terminals on the battery, correct?
@J-TAB3 жыл бұрын
Hey Randall i actually used 4 AWG just for testing purposes tho, I would recommend as large of a cable as possible #2 minimum if you are running really short cable's to the batterys but I would go even bigger if you are running any distance... also make sure you have actual copper cables with as many fine strands as possible and not the cheap aluminum copper coated cable.

I'm so happy you did this video! Thank you so much! I know some inverters have a higher surge rate above their constant general output. E.G. when an appliance starts up even though its rated for 1000 Watts, many times they exceed there constant state running draws. I was curious how this unit would handle that. Also since they are so small & compact, have you considered linking 2-3 in parallel to get say 6000/9000 watt capacity for the ability to run multiple electrical devices, like a shower heater, water pump, Oven/instapot or Microwave, inductive stoves, perhaps a large 27' -to 26" monitor/big screen all at the same time? I know they may put out some heat so placement could be an issue. Curious as to your thoughts...

Hi, thanks for your video, just today i installed the very same model here for our off grid setting. In the Day time it seemingly worked well, except the fan, which was working all the time, even though today was a cold and rainy day here. I have a question regarding the stand-by mode at night. having no experience it seems to me that every minute, the system tries to start itself, all the indicators blink a few times, then the LCD Display tuns on and the fan runs. After one minute everything goes off, Again after one minute the whole process repeats. it goes non stop. Is this behavior a normal stand-by mode for this machine? I am wondering because there is no fault code indicated in the display, and there is no such situation explained in the manual or on the Trouble Shooting table. I appreciate and value your kind effort and time....

Hey Paul! As far as how many solar panels to reach peak voltage it depends on the open circuit voltage of the panels you are using....
