Thanks Allen, it makes all the difference on an install of this size.

Very similar to the install you guys have just completed for me just before Christmas , 16x REA Panels with the micro inverters, AIO with Gateway for full off grid and also tied into an existing solar installation under the old FIT scheme along with the GivEnergy EV Charger. I noticed the mounting brackets are the same as the ones you used on my conservatory roof, great video 👍

Hey Roger, yes it's a very similar install to your set up! Glad to see you're still watching our videos even after your install 🙌

What would happen if you painted your roof white before the bifacial panels were installed?

They want us to get a heat source heat pump???? The power used is going to cost a fortune even with solar it will not be good. I have wood burners and the costs are minimal as I cut my own wood. Standing charges are higher than usage which is stupidity of the government policy.

Tesla are the best, they have the worlds best tech geeks and software to date and Give Energy had major issues with bespoke cables that where advertised as included but took 3 months to arrive! Not professional and very expensive for those that spent thousands last year! Hopefully they have sorted that mess out now!

Hey, we've not had any issues with GivEnergy so we can't comment on this. We do love the Tesla batteries and have also been fitting more of these as of late.

That is a Premium set up! Think I'd have sprung for a wee metal shed to cover the All -in -one even though it's weather rated.
@Heatable
@Heatable 5 ай бұрын
The customer decided against the cover, but this is always added when the manufacturer suggests it (if the customer is happy to have one).

I enjoyed the video, thanks! Did this installation require a canopy to be installed over the AIO+Gateway? I'd like to install one of these in a shady location on the outside of a west facing wall, but I can't figure out how to cover it since space is tight.
@Heatable
@Heatable 8 ай бұрын
Hey Tim, glad you enjoyed! It is advised to install a canopy over the Gateway. However, our customer specifically requested we didn't fit one and GivEnergy confirmed that even though it is advised, it makes no difference to your warranty. If you don't have the space to, this would still be okay!

Is this system going to give the home-owner the results they're looking for? The reason I ask is because they will be using most of their energy in the winter, but that's when solar production is going to be the lowest. Then in the summer when they are producing a lot of solar, they can't export much of it and unless they use the heatpump for aircon, the battery is going to rapidly fill and the rest will not be used.

SIMPLE ANSWER IS NO pete if you had 40 k's worth of battery to store the power in summer you might just make it through the dark months when you add in heat pumps and ac cooling this whole senario turns into a megga rich persons aspiration .

I have similar , all I expect to be able to do is supplement heat pump from solar in winter but more prevalent will be use of battery charging up on cheap rate to do the heavy lifting in winter .

REA Fusion 2's 420w panels
@wajopek2679
@wajopek2679 8 ай бұрын
Could you please make a video showing how much a 420w panel actually produces in the UK (irrespective of string or micro inverter) to prove that a say 320w micro inverter is more than adequate for 95%of the time because the UK weather is such that you will rarely if ever reach 350w never mind 420w. Additionally show the low light generation. Thank you
@Heatable
@Heatable 8 ай бұрын
We can definitely do this. The string vs micro inverter does have a huge impact in low light generation, but we'll be able to explain this too!
@wajopek2679
@wajopek2679 8 ай бұрын
@@Heatable Thank you. I think this would be of great benefit to promoting Enphase in UK. Many people have a "mental block" thinking they are loosing production capacity by limiting themselves to a 320W inverter coupled to a 420W panel. No one has yet demonstrated a direct comparison in typical UK weather from low light, to mid-day of a direct inverter and m/I at the same time.

@@Heatable have you done this yet? Can't seem to find it. This is enticing but can't really go ahead without some data to back it up.
@Heatable

@@Aphova Hi, we have carried out a test on these panels vs normal DC panels over the past year, using all micro inverters to measure the actual difference in generation. It's in edit but will be on the channel very soon 👀

yes solar in the freaking land where the sun don't shine i have 5kw solar in england and it produces 200 w on a dull day [ which is for about 6 months of the year ] and a battery needs recharging every few days . if i had the money to spend i would need to buy a battery big enough to power the house for at least 4 weeks [ that would cost 40 k and then another 40k in the next ten years to replace the godam batterys ] at the end of the day this is just a big CON !
@Heatable
@Heatable 8 ай бұрын
Hi Colin, do you have micro inverters? If you don't have these optimisers, you might find that this is the reason why, as they won't be turning on on lower light days.

Hello mate I also got 5 kw with emphases microinverter in each panel with 9.5 kw battery and ev charger my system is working really well able to charge my ev and also manage to do some export during winter, not much but still ok. Very happy with my solar no problem since installed last November 2022 by Jps renewable
