As you can see it is a little overcast, and 100% light. Nobody else can boast that if the Solar Panels are not out in the open. This video will show what I was saying. There is just 0.02 difference between each level no matter what the Power output is. If you place 5 non-upgraded Solar Panels compared to 1 fully upgraded, you will still only be 0.02, So why waste the resources for such a small gain.
Do not waste your time doing ANY upgrades at all. Here is what it will cost you, and why you shouldn't, but you can decide if it is worth it or not for the following examples; -
Make 3 Solar Panels and fully upgrade them; 54 Scrap, 12 Glue, 9 Circuit Boards 6 Rope, 6 Sinew, 3 Ingots, 24 Crystal, 21 Electrical Components.
Make 5 Solar Panels and do not upgrade them; 50 Scrap, 20 Glue, 10 Circuit Boards, 5 Rope, 0 Sinew, 0 Ingots, 0 Crystals, 0 Electrical Components.
The 5 non-upgraded Panels will give a power output of 0.10, compared to 3 Fully Upgraded Panels, which will give a power output of 0.12, which is a gain of just 0.02.
It just isn’t worth wasting all that material for such a pathetic gain. Once again, it will not matter how high the power is, there will always be just 0.02 difference between each level.
It is best to use non-upgraded Solar Panels. (Run your own test and you will see) Be mindful of the time and do the test when the sun is the highest, as the power changes quickly on either side. You only need 3 Solar panels to run the test. So far, the stacking hasn't changed anything for the worst, that group in the video are all maintaining equal Power.
