As long as you maintain the proper levels with the test kit, it should be fine. 2 ionizers would be overkill unless you have an extremely large pool. All of the specs are in the listing, relating to pool size and the ideal copper level.

Hello! My pool is green right now due to low chemicals and all of the rain we’ve been getting in Jersey. I purchased the ionizer, it’ll be here later today. Should I shock with green to blue before putting in the ionizer?
@CoachHelder5 ай бұрын
Hello, I'm in jersey too! Luckily, my pool is still clear, I just had to get a bunch of debris out after the storm. But it's pouring right now, and I'm wondering if we will get hit again. My advice is to get the pool chemical levels as ideal as you can. The ionizer won't work well unless the levels are on par. The manufacturer states that you should have a relatively clear pool before you introduce the ionizer. It is great for maintaining a clear pool, once it is clear, but not made to turn a green pool clear. Once you get the right copper level, be sure to take the ionizer out of the pool so that your copper level does not get too high. Good luck and stay, Jersey Strong! 💪

Wow, sorry to hear that. Algae blooms are far too common in our area especially with the recent storms. It's good practice to scrub the oxidation off the copper. Most kits include a wire brush for that task. As far as, 'is it working?' The only way to know is to check your copper levels in the pool. I bought a Copper-Flo model and used it for 24 hours. Chlorine level was at the low end of the OK meter. The pool has never been more clear or more algae free. I was having problems with my CYA acid levels because of the pucks. I drained and refilled and switched to liquid. I had to add a half bottle of liquid chlorine every two days. It was awful. Now? A lot site also recommend not to have more than 1 ppm before it does more harm to your pool than good. Do you actually just leave yours floating on the pool the whole day every day or just few hours each day? I'm just concern leaving all day, because even just 6 hrs it shot up from 0 to .7ppm. Sorry Coach you wasted your money and sadly many others on here will too.. I used the piece of copper pipe in the skimmer method many years ago and yes it works, no electricity needed, never any algae at all. However about 10 years ago I discovered Copper Sulfate and started using it. I have a 13k pool and use 1 tablespoon diluted a month. Never ever have I had any Algae since. No green hair, no pool stains on my gunite pool here in Florida. Stop listening to these people who don't have a clue, maybe they work for pool companies or don't even have a pool. So may gimmicks when this is the easiest cost effective solution out there.. Look at the ingredients of most pool Algaecides 5-7% Copper Sulfate. When you buy Copper Sulfate small crystals (Amazon, eBay) and dissolve it, it is 20% concentrate so don't think 1 tablespoon a month is to little, adjust if your pool is larger. That is all you need and you'll NEVER have Algae again. The key is Don't over do it thinking more is better, it's not. It does reduce the amount of Chlorine you use but not by a significant amount. Do the research, stop wasting your money.

Thanks for sharing. To be honest, I do a great deal of research. Not sure why you thought that I did not do my DD. For less than $100, I throw a device into my pool. I leave it in a week, more or less, check my copper reading and if it's good to go... I take it out. I am then done for the season. That has been my SOP for 6 years now, dividing that (sub $100 investment) into 6 and counting... I'm pretty happy with my research, recommendations to subscibers, and my initial investment. So, you are happy with what you do and I am too. Enjoy your day, Florida is awesome and Cheers my friend. 🍻
