Solar power bank solar charger for just enough power to make a phone call, or charge the light. It's kinda an emergency option. . I em really glad this guy did all this testing though 🙏 . I clip the red clamp to the tip of a car outlet charger. Black to the outside of it. It charges my phone through C cable faster than the 40w foldable panel from harbor freight. . I can charge my phone and a 10,000mah power bank in under a day. 10w Amazon panel that has red and black clips.

I think the issue boils down to use case. As a powerbank with a good battery cell, inductive charger, decent flashlight, backup solar panel, comes with gadgets such as a compass and has a form factor meant for portability, I think this is an excellent product. Personally I've used this powerbank to charge my phone for 2 days straight. And the solar panel gets a little juice from any uv source including halogen lighting.... For off-grid a bulky foldout is much more realistic, but for a techie on the go this powerbank is possibly the best in its weightclass.

When I was a teenager I had great results camping with something like this. Fully charge it and use it out in the sun and it lasts a long time, its more efficient directly into your phone than into the power bank's cells, it then uses the pre charged power to even out/balance what is going into your phone. Camping with the Scouts we weren't supposed to have phones but they didn't bother to take them because we didn't have access to outlets. I was the last person to be falling asleep with my earphones in haha.

I've left mine out in the sun for 2.5 days, checked on it probably 30 times and i noticed that if you keep it ventilated, it will be fine. I hung mine off a pole in an open field where a lot of wind was blowing constantly. It never got hot and it's was in the 80's each day. Also, if you get a light meter app for your phone, you can put it in lightly shaded areas and still get pretty good charging efficiency. Do not leave it in a vehicle in the beating sun.

What you’re supposed to do is charge the battery bank then the solar panel makes it last a tiny bit longer. Then in case of emergency you can charge your phone enough to get a message out. It’s more of a power bank survival tool than a solar panel survival tool. You could do the same thing with a battery bank without the panel. A panel that small would probably take a week to charge your phone if the phone was left off (depending on the mAH capacity of your battery). A few/several hour charge might be enough to leave a quick voice message, call or text in a survival situation if you had to rely on the solar capacity alone. But I’d say it would actually be closer to 6 hours than 3. If for some reason I was out in the woods with a dead phone and no charge on my battery bank and I was lost. Then I would set the phone and battery bank as long as daylight would let me. Then in the evening try to leave a voice message to someone close to me. And not in the traditional sense like calling then leaving a voicemail. I mean a voice message that would fall under the MMS category (assuming i got enough signal). Otherwise it would be a text. Because realistically even a half day would probably get ya like 15-20% on a phone with a decent battery life. And that’s probably being optimistic. Those tiny solar panels hardly do any good. I feel Chinese manufacturers just add them because they think average Joe blow consumers don’t understand mAH and the solar panel gives them a reason to pay $30-40 instead of getting the $10 power bank from Walmart 😂
