Solar Powered Boiler - Steam Culture

On this episode of Steam Culture, Brent talks about the power of the sun and how it can be used to generate steam, which then turns a turbine to create electricity.
The sunlight is reflected off the heliostats and directed to a large tower that houses a solar receiver. The solar energy reflected from the heliostats can heat the boiler to over 1,000 degrees.

Why are there zero DIY projects on yotuube involving a field of heliostats and a boiler and a turbine, and a generator? Why?

I think the main problem with this technology is that it has to be at scale to produce the most energy and efficiency. There are also hurdles too such as the mirrors needing to move with the sun etc. Probably a bit more complex than the average DIYer but i'm sure someone could come up with something! asking the same question. got some space blankets to try out with. can't find any decent video with a small scale steam turbine though

Because even Ivanpah failed. Considering it plowed 2.2B of investment, its operating expense was more than 30X compared to a nuclear power plant, 15X more than a coal plant, and takes up hell of a lot more land use; scaling it down to a one man operation would be many times more expensive than simply generating electricity with a diesel generator.

What about using it even more practically, to provide additional lighting for greenhouses?! I could see that being very DIY friendly and manageable. Then on an industrial/commercial scale have some sort of light bending technology built into the grow facility / structure to defuse the light amongst the plants inside as supplemental/additional lighting.
