As the owner of a 57 Biarritz, 58 Eldorado Brougham, 59 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II and several other semi rare cars, this 56 impressed me for two reasons! 1. the extremely rare continental kit and 2. The speed that the top operates! Sensational Automobile to say the least!! Muting the music made the experience all that more enjoyable!!., 👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏

David Iverson you’re right. Today you don’t even se the diffirense of a Cadillac and a Volvo, but think about the doffirences of those cars in the 50’s. Thanks for watching:) Bjorn

No they do not. If only I had Bill Gates type money. I would have a warehouse of this era car and take them out each day (except on rainy days). I will say I still like current Cadillac designs over all American manufacturers, some current Lincolns are beautiful as well. Even the music from that era I still enjoy, you can understand the words.

I've owned quite a few convertible's. The proper way to lower the top.---1-Release the top from the windshield taking tension off the rear plastic window and zipper. 2- Unzip the rear plastic window and lay it flat. If you still have the hard glass original widow this step can be skipped. 3- Start top down but stop about 2/3 of the way. 4- Gently pull the top and pad material from between the folding bars/top framing so as not to pinch the pads and top material when top all the way down. 5- Finish lowering the top. 6- Tuck the top and pads down into top storage area. 7-There should be a leather strap to secure the top so when driving over bumps etc. the top does not move in storage area thus chafing the material. 8-Install the soft boot after letting it soften up in the sun so as not to stress the button fasteners, if hard parade boot this is not necessary. When raising the top unfasten the strap then raise top most of the way. Zip window back in while top not all the way closed so as not to stress the zipper. After zipping window, lock/fasten top to windshield. How you lower or raise your top is non of my business but I just described the proper method. I don't know why the no. one item above is lined out here.

I was born in 1956 , here in Europa when we saw an american car it was unbeleavebel, why the sheer power v 8 a chassis beams chroom ect everything on it but the question was Amerika helpt in the war , the unbeleavebel power of the country in the world the feel of it the greatness of it we couldnot imagine it , my father drove a biuck and when we were on the gotthard pas and other people were there with a citroen deux chevau beetle he passed all of them and when we were at the top of the Mountain he said we have to be respect to those people ectect, with teers in his eyes, he was born in 1915. And when we were at ouwer destination in Oostenrijk by a gasthoff he woud not go into a hotel he parkt the buick at the drive way of the gasthoff becite the cars of the other gasts all german people who came as soldars out of that war and hat at that time vw beetles or dkw zwei cilinder ,two cilinder, inthe evening when we all the gests sat outside my father heard them speak and remain it was lets say 10 years after that 2 war , in german language,: die ,die die amerikaner mit ther big cars well my father who was a real dutch guy became very ubsad that my mother must became between them, so a little story over the impact of your great country in the fiftys. Now adyas when i go to the garage for the every year state controle of my car there are a few very old mecanics who now my father and his american biuck and you now now we have here the mercedes bmw audi still that car and afterwards his elektra and riviera are u nforget tablle ,so then and he deid young at 53 and he said wans we will drive a caddilac .i still now i am an old guy believe when your reincarnation is in Europa believe in your burth place but i never never experrienced such a special feeling that gave my father to his american cars an in a special way to your country and your powerfull country feeling at that time half a century ago , dear sir i wish you and yours and that strong White car whit that special feeling all the good ings and health ,kind regards from the Netherlands

Just turned 63, my first car was ma and pas 56 cadillac 4 door. When my brother was born, i had to share the back seat with a bassinet. B4 dad passed, i told him of all his cars and all his trucks( he had some nice ones), there was 1 i wished he kept. He asked which 1 was that, and i replied the 56 caddy. Then i learned about the 56 eldorado and elvis' 56 eldorado. I had 1 chance to purchase an eldo biarritz and things didnt quite go the way id hoped, so i get to appreciate everyone elses 56's and watch a 76 deteriorate for reasons i wont discuss here. Banker be damned( he did get fired) i shoulda got it.😊. Beautiful car!

Gorgeous car! The excess of the 50’s exemplified in American cars was rightfully justified in context to what Americans had to live through in the 40’s. The boxy, minimalist cars of the 60’s do not compare.
