Up for sale is my LS1/T56 swapped 1987 Mitsubishi Starion. This car is almost fully restored. Absolutely no rust. Full professional and beautiful Subaru Galaxy Blue paint job. All new OEM NOS fenders/body panels, new windshield, great condition SHP wheels and much more.
The car was silver. I am the 4th owner. Last reported odometer reading was 70k. Body is flawless, absolutely no rust. Perfect foundation for the drivetrain swap. Super clean CarFax can be provided upon request. No damage history. No accidents. Clean and clear TN title.
Mechanically, the car is a bone stock LS1 sourced from a wrecked 1999 Trans Am that had 39k original miles. Engine only has a CAI and a custom MAF scaled tune w/ VATS delete, EGR delete, skip shift delete, and rear O2 sensors turned off. The car put down 301whp and 308lb/tq on a Dynocom dyno.
The T-56 transmission is a Ticks level 2 rebuild with a Hinson short throw shifter. Features a Wilwood clutch master cylinder and a Ticks remote speed bleeder. McLeod Super Street single disc clutch and OEM throwout bearing. Brakes are brand new all around--Calipers/rotors/pads and a Tilton brake master cylinder. Car is rack and pinion swapped sourced from a Dodge Shadow. All brand new A/C components and HVAC still operate normally through the factory controls. Fuel pump is a new Walbro 255 with a C5 Corvette returnless fuel system and in-line fuel filter. BeCool Boneyard dual pass aluminum radiator with a 14" SPAL high performance electric fan with an aluminum shroud setup that works great at keeping the LS1 cool. AGM battery, oil catch-can, and C5 Corvette fuel rail covers make up some other small touches found under the hood.
All factory functions still work as intended: Lights, wipers, power windows/mirrors/locks, defrost, HVAC controls, radio (has a brand new JVC Android Auto/Apple Car Play equipped unit), gauges, interior lighting, etc. Only aftermarket interior modification besides the stereo are the Autometer Phantom whiteface gauges--and they work perfectly, and are in-sync with the factory light-brightness adjustments as well.
Equipped with many sought after cosmetic parts including: rare '83 hood, '83 tail lights, '88 1-piece air dam, and '88 SHP wheels. Other cosmetic upgrades are minor: MotoCam360 2-piece air dam splitter (to help protect the mint condition air dam,) tinted side/front markers, D2 adjustable coilovers, 20mm wheel spacers, LED headlights, and yellow LED fog lights. The '83 hood is held up by MotoCam360 hood shocks--so no more annoying hood prop.
The under carriage is in amazing shape. No rust. All new tie-rods, sway bar bushings, ball joints, rear axles, torque tube, rebuilt diff (factory 3.54 rear gear), driveline components, etc. Wheels are in amazing shape with very minimal pitting and no curb rash. Paint has been fully corrected and ceramic coated and it shines up beautifully. All trim panels have been PAINTED (not wrapped) gloss black. The Galaxy Blue paint job is professional. Door jambs, underhood, and even interior panels not visible to the eye have been prepped and painted.
The car is not perfect, but it wouldn't take much at all to get it there.
The cosmetic issues that keep the exterior from being 10/10:
-The front bumper has some very minimal spider webbing on the outside edges.
-Driver side foglight bezel has a chip of paint.
-And the front bumper has a few, very tiny rock chips.
-Interior flaws: The seats have some side bolster wear and minor nicks in the leather.
Mechanical issues are:
-The steering shaft angle--The car really needs the top single u-joint replaced with a double u-joint setup. (I have the joint) The steering shaft angle is just at a sharp angle due to limited space with the LS swap. So what you'll feel is tighter resistance when steering to the left versus the right.
Exterior/Glass:
-The side hatch trim panels are slightly loose and allow water entry from strong car washes/pressure washers to lightly dribble inside. The trim just needs to be removed and butyl tape replaced.
It just needs some very minor work to make it completely perfect. The car as it is, is still a 100% fully turn-key ready to drive anywhere car.

Mannn I wished I kept my 86 white starion back from 2000…just like u said that head gasket was annoying…rebuilt the engine for about $2500 back then and I still got oil burning quicker than I imagine…I wish Mitsubishi would bring back this bad boy again today and have electric version or better turbo system with similar exterior body…I truly believed back at the time that this should have been the night rider car more than the camaro…awesome color btw!

Car sold anyways. Doubt you would have even been a serious buyer. I made that video specifically for the person who bought it. If he wanted a 2 hour long driving video, I would've took one. And the driving portion included demonstrated everything you needed to know anyways. What's your point?

@@OctaneSlain You don't have to be so aggressive. I looked at it because I love Starions. I own four cars and I don't need one more. The car seems excellent and I was curious to get the feel of it with the LS1. The same engine in different cars can feel different.
