I've researched all cars in this class. I find this car to be the best bang for the money if your going to keep the car for 10+ yrs. I've decided on buying one as my personal daily driver. I'll own other cars also but those other cars I'll get are just for toying around, this car will be for it's reliabilty and comfort for going for longer rides instead of driving a real sports car on long trips because getting out of a real "sport car" after an 11 hr trip is not fun for me because I have 28 screws from my ankle to my hip on my left side from a severe line of duty injury I suffered as a NY firefighter. I plan on buying this model with less then 50,000 miles and will keep it until it's ready for retirement.. I still own my 02 honda accord coupe V6 with only 124,000 miles on it and it's still like new inside and out. I've owned a few other vehicles too but I've kept that honda because it's a fun and zippy lil car that just keeps going and going so I hope the lexus does the same for me and I believe it will because I maintain my vehicles above and beyond the manufacturers recommend services and because I also am a skilled diesel mechanic so it's easier for me to properly maintain a vehicle. If you know of a better vehicle then this for longevity and class please inform me

The IS350 is really the competitor to the 3 series. 0-60 in 5.3 seconds is respectable when compared to the 3 series and what ever Audi has in that class. The 250 does 0-60 in like 8 seconds so for those who was a lux car and don’t care about performance get the 250. If you want something with respectable passing power that is competitive with other lux brands go for the 350. I have a ‘11 is350 AWD and I’m throughly pleased with it.

Okay, I have to tell you... I couldn't watch beyond your "flippity padels" comment! First, if you think that this car is too slow, you don't know how to drive at speed, THIS car or any other car. I have a 2007 IS 250 F-Sport, which has the same specs, just some F-Sport modifications from Toyota. Now, before some guys scream that the ISF didn't come to market until 2008, Toyota/Lexus introduced the F-Sport line in January of 2007! Back in the days in Germany, I was a BMW guy and had a 5 series, M Technique equipped and handling by them... and I can tell you that my IS F-Sport handles like my old beemer. In sports mode and Power ECT, I have no problems downshifting to 5th gear at 80mph and accelerating up to 110mph in no time on a highway for quick sprints (cops 'n shit)! If you think that this car isn't fast, you really need to take some advanced driving lessons! Join the SCCA, start driving Autocross and Track and learn how to use your car efficiently! My only... and I mean ONLY problem with this car is the trunk space. YOU think it's great, I think it suck! I had more space in my 1994 Toyota Camry back in the days, than in my Lexus. I had several trucks, such as the Chevy Tahoe, since, but it isn't fair to compare those spaces. I am a photographer and the trunk is so small, I barely have space for one Pelican case, if I have a trunk organizer in it. In conclusion... take your car to a SCCA Autocross event and let the instructors teach you how to drive your car!
@babak95264 жыл бұрын
lol wtf are you talking about there's no such thing as a 2007 is250 f sport, f sport trim came out in 2010, secondly, the is250 is fucking slow as shit. I had a 2007 is250 and it was slower than my bmw 325i that had only 183 crank hp. Just recently got a 2008 IS 350 and I'm very happy. Much faster, better breaks, more capable, and just all around more solid feeling than the 250. In a straight line the IS 250 doesn't even stand a chance against a Toyota 86 or a fucking Camry for that matter. Sure its efficient but if you're looking for a truly fast car I feel like efficiency shouldn't concern you. Sure for track purposes and canyons maybe there's not that big of a difference between the two cars since they have the same suspension and transmission, but all around having more power on the highway and races is just undeniably better. There's a reason the 350 and ISF were more expensive dude...

@@babak9526 I understand your passion, but to be passionate doesn't mean you are all-knowing! In my case, I am open to be corrected and to learn new things and admit mistakes. Back to my explanation that you question. Here's an excerpt from the Wikipedia page about IS and there is the following sentence that refers to the accessories line: *A related performance trim line, Lexus F Sport, was launched for 2007, with an F Sport accessory line* and factory models in 2010. Regarding speed, of course I would lose in a drag race, but this is my daily driver that I'll do autocross with (SCCA Class D Street). Driving fast is much more than just doing an insane launch and the IS 250 is very responsive in S mode and ECT Power, which is the only way I drive in NYC and surrounding areas every day. It's quick and nimble and I do not deny that there are faster options (which won't help you much in traffic) and I am fully aware of the limitations, but also the advantages of my car. Much of the performance in traffic and on the road depends on the driver and skills, in addition to performance. I've seen too many young drivers that have totally boosted cars and they don't know shit how to do performance driving and can't even handle their cars properly. FYI, my next daily, in a few short years will be most likely a 2014 Lexus IS 350 F-Sport, once the price drops into a manageable realm and I have the cash (I don't finance) to buy it outright. Until then, I'll install sway bars, get an ECU flash and maybe dedicated track tires, but that's all I will do, no loud exhaust sound, flashy RICER accessories, because I want to minimize attention by LEOs. Toodles for now.

The is250 is much less reliable than the is350. It has direct injection which is an issue and makes only 200hp. So no. It's not a fast car and it was never designed to be. There's a reason people commute with these cars because they're cheap and look good. But if you want fast you need a 350 or an f. If we're comparing apples to apples, compare a 07 250 to 07 350. The 350 wins every day.

I know what you are talking about the is250 is definitely slower but even if you have maintained your car to it’s fullest and taken perfect care of it your engine will still get carbon buildup because it is direct injection which I have seen carbon buildup affect performance in these engines but the 2.5l is more practical driving than sporty and the 3.5l is pretty fast I think 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds or close to that and the v8 Lexus isf is just ridiculous but I would love to own one some day

Bryan Ortega I was thinking the same thing that is my plan at least honestly you should they are very reliable and are fun to drive and look awesome you can pick them up for good price for a newer 2nd gen Lexus is250 or is350 a decent mileage one will go for a little below or above $10,000 depending how much you want to spend you can get one with a little over 100,000 miles and be fine they last for a long time as long as you take care of them and check and monitor things and do required normal maintenance

I loved this car. I don't care what negative things you have to say about it. I enjoyed driving it. Someone t-boned me and totaled it and I'm having a hard time finding what to replace it with. Any ideas?

hello, I drive a Volvo S80 and I am really addicted to coherent Swedish interior, the light leather, delicate details, and the "rolling quiet fortress" feeling. Anyway Its been 7 years and want to switch to some other car, which is quiet, a bit more sporty and have the same feel of quality. Is the IS for me? I am a bit concerned when I see the digital clock, the switches/functions spread in the cabin all around, and some hard plastic. I smell some Toyota inside (TBH I would kill myself in a Camry), pls correct me/provide some feedback considering my thoughts above. Thanks in advance!

This is just long cruiser. Have one in Europe. It's not M3 or C63AMG kind of car but you can easily do 600-700km trip on one tank and even without stoping for rest. Anyway top speed 225km/h is higher than allowed in all countries except of Germany.... so ? it's a good car...
@CrazyMonsterAirsoft16 жыл бұрын
If you did any research, you would actually find that the is350 weighs less than the is250. The difference between the two cars is not merely the different engine displacement, it feels as if they are not on the same platform at all. The command button on the steering wheel is only for phone commands.

well, it is a IS250 not a IS350. The IS 350 is actually pretty fast for this model year. Finally, you can easily get over 250,000 miles out of this car which truly puts this car at the top of its competition. Truly get the Bang for your Buck with this car.

Beautiful car, certainly a better choice over a 3 series BMW or Audi A4. One of the most reliable cars ever made. Not the fastest 2500cc engine ever, but thats not what the 250 is about. For performance, the ISF is where its at.
