I will be perfectly honest - I want sport and luxury separate. I don't mind having nice, sporty vehicles, but I want my luxury cruisers and such to be comfort only. This is such a phenomenal vehicle for soaking up the miles in absolute comfort with relatively cost effectiveness and great versatility. I prefer it to most other compact and mid-size offerings in the segment, and even to it's successor. They're really quite wonderful, for the right person.

Full on agree here. I love my 2016 Avalon hybrid but I am starting to have some regrets. I gave up AWD from my previous sedan. A decent amount of power as well. However the hybrid system is plenty fast for most normal use. My biggest issue I find is with wet pavement. I believe the electric motor makes it a bit easier to knock the tires loose before the gas engine gets to really kick up. This makes it a little tough on making somewhat aggressive turns or merges on wet pavement. Another downside is with the hybrid version the back seat doesn’t fold down since the hybrid battery is there. I’m starting to see the value a bit more if more trunk space and folding seats as I’ve been making more longer trips including snowboarding trips, which I can’t even get a proper roof rack for becyase there are no proper mounting options on the roof. That’s not to say it’s not one of the smoothest damn rides I’ve ever experiences. That with the ridiculously quiet hybrid system. Along with super high mileage assuming I’m not short on storage it’s amazing for long drives. But yeah at this point I’m used to driving a boat of a car at this point, so I’m not too worried about something not being sporty enough at this point.

@@IAmCjcj11 I REALLY appreciate your feedback on hybrids, they all make sense. I'm looking at a 2011 hybrid with higher miles and its FWD. I always felt FWD would be enough but the high torque makes me wonder now. 2016 Avalon hybrid is only 4 cylinder with 200 hp and FWD. How are you slipping anywhere? LOL I dont know the tq but I'm surprised. I was thinking it was 6 cylinder initially.

If i want to get 40mpg , and i do this the most time in warm weather, i simply drive the car not with more gas input than slightly into the power area ! yes, its just so simple !!
