What a pristine Edsel. My mom had 57 or 58 sedan in ice box white. Dad was dealer and so proud of himself by trading it. He got 1960 Sedan DeVille in great condition. A Ford to a newer Cad, who wouldn't be happy. My mother was furious. I think she missed the punch of that Y-Block. I love the way you love your cars Charles!

My Aunt and Uncle bought a new Corsair two door very much like that, except that the side coves and rear panel were painted cocoa brown. It was an absolutely beautiful car. 😍

Good one. I did look at, and drive, a used '58 like this, even in this famous pink, in 1972...just got my license, wanted a nice, eye catching, car. Charles--behold the glory and thanks.

I have never seen the "open door" light operating on a Edsel. It was an option, but my research showed that the door latches did not have the switches. Apparently in later production, they were produced.

I have a friend that's probably the only person to be kicked out of the Edsel Club of America! He has a '58 Ranger, that's jacked up withTorqThrust wheels and fat meats to help the very built 427 side oiler and rock crusher put distance to the pavement!

How about asking the owners about the issues associated with owning a classic car. e.g. finding suitable tyres, does fuel need an additive ? e.g. flashlube put in the gasoline when the tank is filled up. Otherwise, the valves will burn out. What about brake pads, and other parts.
Ай бұрын
A person buying a car like this, should be experienced in those details, and have a qualified classic car technician available.

Typically, the radio doesn't work and the original speaker has turned to powder. The solution is to put a modern radio in the glove box.

@ :”California Coral “ was used in a movie to describe the color of a pink house for the setting of the movie. I was using it sarcastically. An old Bob Hope and Lana Turner movie from the same time period as the car. Most viewers would not know who the actors were.

The grill is the point. The experimental department (E) at Ford was told to design something completely different, something "unlike anything else on the road" that would be recognizable from a block away. The entire board at Ford gave the proto type a standing ovation! Roy Brown had succeeded in designing something that was a departure from everything else on the road.
