Friend of mine was very close & recorded on video this Duke player 1st side arming a Wake fan & said the Wake fans were rushing the court so fast in exhilaration & honestly not seeing who was in the way & Wake students were not the type to try to purposely hurt an opposing player & even Wake students were that type, there definitely was not a motivation to do that since Wake had just 5 seconds earlier sent a huge message (figuratively knife thru the heart) to Duke by winning this close game! For at least 2 minutes before that moment, following the 2 Wake free throws with 1.6 seconds left in the game, it was over 99% obvious with anyone with half a brain, that weight fans would immediately storm the court Annette by in anyone else staying on the court player or no player could almost be absolutely assured they would be knocked down. Apparently, this Duke player doesn’t have even half a brain all the other DUKE players got off the court immediately in this Duke player stood in the very middle of the court like an idiot, and now he complains because extremely exuberant students or other very young weight fans while we running on the court have to run into him on top of that video shows that he threw the first into a Wake Forest fan. This is a great example of the DUKE arrogance that we are better than anybody else, particularly- -‘little ol’ wake forest’ Please allow me to give another example of DUKE. My issue with court storming, global warming, out sourcing of American 🇺🇸 labor to other country’s and other issues/topics that have been talked about needing to be fixed for decades upon decades, is this: We all, meaning the general public and the powers at be, have known that these issues/problems have been in need to be corrected for a long time, yet we still just sit back and talk about these issues needing to be fixed, and DO NOTHING to fix the problems. WHY? Why does the NCAA board do nothing to stop court storming?, Why does the government do nothing about global warming? Although there have been minor changes/tweaks to policies to lighten up environmental pollution, but no real significant changes, and why is that? It pisses me off that the government powers or head officials don’t seem to want to really care about making long lasting impactful changes, they just want to keep things as is so the public can gripe and complain about changes needing to be made for another 6 or 7 decades. That’s what really pisses me off. The people who have the ability to lay rules down, they sit back and do almost NOTHING. Why?

The Wake Forest basketball team out played Duke in the stretch and deserves to celebrate. However, the fans that assaulted a player in celebration are totally a bunch of classless jerks, and this type of behavior has no place in sports. A player safety has to be a priority.. the Wake Forest staff and athletic department need to take ownership of this event, and make sure that something like this never happens again.

His leg was out because he was WALKING, and when you walk one leg goes out in front of the other one. The push was a natural reaction when someone appears in your space like that. People are also ignoring the fan who pushes him in the back right after.

First of all Filipowski should have jogged off the court if not sprint off so that it doesn't happen and two just make sure that Duke is off the court first then let the fans rush the court. Why can't security just do there jobs and make sure Duke is off the court and then go looney afterwards, this is not hard to figure out. Court storming in basketball and football has to stop. I know you want to celebrate, but let the opposing team off the court! Things are done and said during the court storming, and players get hurt. The players have to play the game out, the security has to funnel players away from opposing players, for the safety of both sides. The player has every right to get off the court, and the fan has no right to be on the court when the opposing players are on the court. There has to be severe penalties for this, since the fines are not working. The PA also has to remind the security staff and fans. Someone will severely get hurt, or a player will hurt a fan in the future and then everyone blames the player. This needs to stop!

Isnt it funny how ESPN within 30 mins of game ending posts about Duke kid being "hurt" by storming yet omits the Duke kid trying to trip fans. Then ESPN harps on how court storming is a hot button issue. Funny it isnt a hot button issue until it happens to their golden child. Yet Duke fans storm the court its deemed "school spirit" but it happens to Duke and oh no we cant have this. Pathetic by ESPN. The game was over. Duke felt need to set up play and put their players in that position and put them at risk. The last thing Duke can claim is being a victim. That alone is the biggest joke.

It wasn't right for them to storm the field either, but there are major differences between football and basketball.
