"I'm a hero Tell me of which novel" Easily my favorite part of the song, everyone talks about heroism in war, until your friend head is 3 meters away from his body
@josephgoldstein38782 жыл бұрын
Or until one of your buddies have been shot through a limb which has a nerve passing through and shrieks as if he is being torn apart. You have similar injuries, if not outright crippled. Then you return home and retarded "leftists" curse you for a war you had no say in and use your suffering for their ideology you don't agree with, retarded "right-wingers" who think you gladly made a sacrifice and the arms company counts his profits. Nobody got the fact that a soldier is a protector in emergency times vs tyranny, even in the best societies a small necessary evil. But you are a "hero" in a novel you had no say in. You do you. :(

I haven't heard this song since like 2007/2008 in the time that I spent in Ukraine. You gave me a flashback to being in a hotel bathroom, looking at myself in the mirror after drinking too many shots of vodka while my friends were listening to this song chugging beer and chain smoking cheap cigarettes. Thanks for giving me a return of memories. It's funny how a song can bring back so much to you and all the people who just disappeared from your life. I looked at myself in the mirror right after having the memory in comparison. I'm so different now, eye bags, crowsfeet, receding hair, large beard. I touched my face and flashbacked to myself as an 18 year old doing the same thing in the hotel. I truly felt for the first time "Oh wow, I'm old." I'm in my 30s now. Enjoy life while you can. Thanks for everything.

Not gonna lie, in this cruel fever dream we call reality is definitely sobering especially with recent events. With my current occupation, I am filled with nothing but fear and dread in my heart. However it is what I signed up for and I have no other choice is to push it down and smother it showing a darker crueler side of me in order to keep going for those left and right of me who depend on me for each other's survival. Hearing this, shows me what can and what will most likely happen. I can already imagine the horrors already and cold long nights as I stand post on the look out knowing any second things can go south in an instant while my brothers left and right are trying to raise morale with songs but everyone is feeling down from days of little sleep and constant movement and extreme exhaustion being pushed to our limits. What I'm going with this, is that this is reality and this is very real. It sucks. Ukraine is in turmoil as the world crumbles right before our very eyes. As Pandora's box is opened it seems like the only way to temporarily distract ourselves from the seemingly endless chaos is through songs for it is what brings us together.

I remember when I was little I was given a Su-24 model kit for my birthday and there was no decal of the Russian flag inside, but there was a decal of the Ukrainian flag. But then I didn’t even think about this “Russian, Ukrainian - whatever” Until now, this Su-24 model is at my grandmother's house, and every time I visit her, I feel sad when I look at this model.

But now the Russian su-24 with the red stars is bombing peaceful cities of Ukraine, killing children and women, the elderly and students. @@dusk6159 I did not say my government is a group of geniuses neither. Completely acknowledge the fact that my government had done some really bad things like dislocating and basically committing "genocide" on the tribal communities in the central mountain regions because they want to go their own way. My government back then was in a post-war mentality where they doubt almost everything and would do anything they need to make sure their position is not threatened.
