Frost free would be better obviously but if winterized properly would be fine, try soldering on a 1/2” copper female easier to instal and or change down the road 👍

Always apply solder on the bottom...First. Then wipe the solder from top to bottom...both sides. Then the joint is 100% leak proof. This I and 5 apprentices did on 25,000 + 1/2" copper pipes. The 5 had never soldered b4.

Okay so im a plumber. Not a fan of gate valves butu know whatever. A better way would be to have ue hole going inside empty, you solder your spigot on a feet of pipe n push it inside so ur spigot is closer to the wall(also higher quality spigot come with pre finising that u just screw it in and it looks better) once ur inside u solder a coupling. Also you can see in the solder u heat the solder too much, give the fitting time to heat up its brass i takes a bit longer but it will give a stronger joint. Anyways good job keep working bud!

It's not illegal and it's not gonna be becoming illegal it's integral to several industries one of which is electronics and another is HV air conditioning.
