One day, the two nations, Ireland and Great Britain will be united again, though not under a English monarch, but as two equal republics in a new union. You heard it here first. Its the only logical way forward for both countries. This will happen when all of those with adult memories of the troubles have died.

I love the United Kingdom and all its brave and strong and wonderful soldiers and the people who like me can only dream of what it would be like to be in the company of such truly spectacular people. I am American born, but from day 1 in this country I've suffered at the hands of the evils of what is the worst country in the whole world. I don't always support retaliation as a means of survival because many times it ends up getting taken out on everybody and that isn't good, but I do believe that you must fight to survive against treachery and I have seen the worst treachery and greed and embezzlement in the universe here. UK is a a different story. Most of your people have been loving and supportive and very kind to me from Irish to Welsh to English to Scottish. You are wonderful and I hope to one day settle in one of your beautiful countries. Keep the faith, keep doing everything you do so well, and much love to you all. Happy Easter and if you're an Atheist or Agnostic happy everything you do too.

How do the lads get on in the regiment? I'm from down South and I'm thinking about applying to it although not into serious consideration yet. Would there be any discrimination against Catholics or lads from the South?

negative, but, i did train as a soldier for abit, its difficult, and i do know some of what goes through, like the pain, emotions, scars, memories, i understand soldiers very well, that is why i have the most respect for them, il never insult a soldier, because only a select few can truly be, soldiers.

I suppose "Agnostic" or "Atheist" is me and I lean further towards the former. Whatever this God I see is he is not a kind and forgiving God. Every war is down to religion and territory and one day it just has to end there has to be peace. A lot of soldiers I'm sure get a big charge out of fighting I would too, but nobody wants to be killed. That is the risk. When people slam and trash soldiers it really pisses me off because they are making the world a better safer world and you can't disrespect them. I've heard a song a million times about a break up called "Don't Look Back In Anger" by the British band Lionheart and that song is how twisted our emotions get when there is a confrontational situation in which there is someone throwing it all away and someone trying to get away from that vicious cycle. War has become like a bad relationship. It always was, but now I notice a lack of caring and understanding that must surely be unprecedented. Very scary to witness that. I stopped going to protests as I'd hear the same old shuck and jive at them and hardly anyone showed up!!!! Just old fat or old sickly thin people. So what do young people in America do and unfortunately it spreads all over the globe? Sit at home stuffing themselves with garbage watching television and getting brainwashed by it. Wake up world!

Mostly from the North of Ireland. But some Southern Irish joined the Royal Irish Regiment. They are not just British in the Royal Irish.

Everyone who joins the regiment is Irish, whether born in the North or the South or of Irish ancestry, even those born with no Irish blood, which there are, from South Africa, Canada, Fiji and other parts of the UK, once you join all brothers and fiercely defend each other Catholic, Protestant,Hindu,Jewish, Muslim, no sectarianism, that's only for mindless cowards.
