My boyfriend and I are both US Veterans, so we know what it’s like to be on deployment, away from all our friends and family, and away from one another as well. Once we both got honorably discharged, & came home, luck would have it we would be coming home on the same day. We planned for all our friends & family to meet us at the airport. I was on an earlier flight home by more than 5 hours. We hadn’t seen one another in a long time, so I was so eager to see the man I loved with all my heart. I was pacing a lot, antsy, nervous, kept drinking one iced coffee after another. We all were there, waiting at the gate for his flight to pull in. I was still in my fatigues. Once I saw him come on into the terminal, I remember my heart beating fast, as I literally ran all the way over into his arms. He’s more than a foot taller than my 5’11” frame; so, I jumped up into his arms, bawling my eyes out, hugging the stuffing outta him. He’s just held me, carrying me in one hand, his duffel in the other, off to our friends and family

I am so happy for you! I had a partner in the army also When it was dangerous to be known as gay. If we had been found out we would have been sent to the Fort Leavenworth military prison. It doesn't take much imagination To know What would have happened To us there ,, Gay lovers The everyday fear I've been found out Destroy our relationship. Paul never recovered. His life is destroyed. I suffered plenty Also That was somehow Able to make a life For myself.

Just thought of something-- is a "red shirt" the best thing to wear to support a soldier? Maybe there aren't that many trekkies in the armed services.

Strange... I’ve been wondering why US soldiers even those with enlightened mentality, progressively thinking are still so enclosed nationally. I heard many stories about military males married foreign girls when they were deployed to the US military installations overseas; I heard many stories how US military lesbi married foreign females (especially in Germany and Norway). But I haven’t ever heard about US military gays married foreign gay males. So I’m just wondering: is that something about their special status (however, in this case it doesn’t explain why it works with lesbians, and doesn’t with gays), or is it a sort of nationalism: to date only with a person of your own kind, or is that a cultural thing? Or a prejudice? In many ways it reminds me Liechtenstein (a small Principality between Austria and Switzerland): if a foreign female married Liechtenstein national she could obtain the permanent residence ( but it still requires great efforts) and never full citizenship, if a foreign male married Liechtenstein woman he gets neither permanent residency nor citizenship ever (the Principality doesn’t need alien DNA). Anti-male discrimination, legally accepted. Gay marriages are not about DNA ( mostly ), but still US military gay guys prefer only date with gay guys from their country. Why so?
@luxitos28673 жыл бұрын
It could be the fact that there is more prejudice toward men than women in same-sex relationships.
@economieliberale51892 жыл бұрын
I really don't understand the purpose of your message!!! What's wrong with marrying someone from your country? I am not American, there are 138,053,563 men in the USA. It's still enough to find your lover.

Long distance relationships are difficult as it is. Having a relationship with someone in the military adds extra stress. Also, he may not have been deployed to an active battlefield but he was still deployed.

People like you saying negative comments about two guys kissing, your opinions don’t matter. You’re hating cuz you don’t understand what true love. True love is NEVER just about a guy and a girl loving each other; it’s also about two guys and two girls loving one another. If you people want to hate on gay people, don’t bother and leave them alone.
@jonathanarvizo305 жыл бұрын
Aunty Godmother Look. I’m not trying to hate here. All I’m saying is if you got negative to say, keep it to yourself. If you love someone regardless if it’s a guy or a girl, you love that person.
