I remember when my grandma was one day away and she visited us at home and our month old puppy peed herself from joy. Never happened again and she loved my Grandma the most. She died in 2017 while our dog just turned 7.

Ok, I also have a dad that was in the army, but he retired and he is here with us. But right now I want to give a moment of silence for all of the soldiers that are in the military and are risking their lives for us and soldiers that have lost their lives protecting us. Thank you America for keeping us safe.

My mom was in the military and I'm happy she's still with me it just hurts to see much these people without a mom or dad or brother or sister not come home when after they're deployed and they get to come home and see just no one it hurts to see that and to think my brother and my sister want to go into the army or the Armed Forces it hurts because I don't know if how could I ever see them again but I do have to say thank you to everyone that puts their life on the line for us citizens and helps overseas with every terrorist thing that's going on over they are and all I have to say is. God Bless America and God bless all the families it don't get to see there family members again we will pray for all of you

My father died in Syria, but before he deployed, he told me, "Live on my life. No matter how challenging, or even f**ked up the obstacle can be, live on, and dream big." Ever since then, my school life has been so rough, being called "fatherless" and "My father was weak" all that, but I listened to my father, and I swept all that negativity away, and I will live my life. I never truly felt what it was like in those movies how a boy or even a girl can manage to ignore all of the hatred other people that bestowed on them, but I did, and its apart of life, and all I have to do, in order to not let that sink into me, is to leave it be, and go on my day. Before my dad said that, I was a "wimp", or like a person whose emotions can break easily. Now, anything that I deem is negative, I instantly wash that away. To be completely honest, I wanted to commit suicide at some occasions, but ever since my dad told me those words, I've never felt so strong in my entire life.

My uncle die 9 years ago and my cousin was getting bullied and she wanted to kill her self. My uncle was in the navy he came back a changed man. But don't forget the people that said that to you they are just jealous and only think of themselves. Ps. I came home but lost my girlfriend to a car accident while I was overseas. And lost lot of friends in Vietnam ... brown water navy ... thing were never the same but I am grateful that the guys coming home now have support from friends and family and my generation helped get the VA up to speed so the ones coming home can get the help they need it not perfect but compared to the 60 and 70 it has improved believe me I know . Welcome home brothers and sisters.

As a Navy Dad & family, we sit on pins and needles while our children are serving. We go without sleep and unable to truly relax until we know our sons and daughters are home safe. It starts all over again each they leave for duty. Are only contact with them is an occasional redacted email. Some don’t come back, which increases our anxiety. We all serve with them and are over joyed when we actually see and hug them.
