While fighting the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, a platoon of US soldiers spotted what looked to be 6 foot monsters circling them in the jungle. Was this beast some relation to the famed "Bigfoot", or was this creature a prehistoric animal that has been lost for centuries? Watch today's incredible video to discover the secrets of the Batutut.

Can you get more details? Height, size, color. Did they have tails? Were they bipedal or did they walk on all four like most apes? What known species of ape did they most look like? Orangutans, chimpanzee, baboon, gorilla? And if different, how? Were they large monkeys or were they a great ape? Did they seem more human like than known primates or were they just like known primates we have today? Did they throw rocks or sticks? Did they interact with the soldiers? What stories did you grandfather have about them?

John Locatelli there was a small glass house where Vietnamese scientists were creating a machine that would create a man made rain, they kept the last known two mantis of an endangered species, that is able to change it’s color in it’s surroundings locked with the machine, the experiment was set in 1927 and was about if the mantis in the house would be healthy and alive from the sun, vegetation and the man-made rain, one day the scientists hadn’t noticed that the nitrogen molecules stoped producing and the mantises were locked for years growing in size cause of the oxygen, in the Vietnam war they grow huge enough to break out of the house and terrorize the soldiers, they were called the Vietnamese “Kamacuras”, I would love to see this in the Monsterverse

Yeah. My dad was forced conscripted in the war by south Vietnam. He did mention that his team met a few "RED APE LIKE MEN". He said they looked as tall as him. He's 5"7. But the apes didn't attack them and they was trying to hide in the jungle so they didn't shoot the ape men. The ape like men then just walked away without conflict. He also said he saw a giant boa in the jungle and one of his teammate threw a grenade in its mouth when it tried to eat him. He estimated the boa was at least a 1.5 foot in diameter and close to 40ft long. It's was during the Vietnam War so I don't know if he was mistaken because off all the mayhem going on or not.

I've been to Vietnam many times and hiked through a lot of jungle areas. About 2 years ago while walking a trail in Dak Lak province one of these creatures ran across the trail about 50 yards in front of us. My wife, who is Vietnamese, freaked out and wouldn't go any further. When we got back to civilization she told the story to some of the locals who said we were lucky to be unharmed. Although rarely seen, they can be quite nasty.

Let's admit it, most of us here on KZbin are living in urban areas. What do we know of nature or at least thick jungles? There are so many normal things and animals, that are completely alien to us, because we do not encounter them in our daily lives. Some of my school friends never saw a real cow (only in pictures), that's how far removed they're from nature growing up in "civilized" areas here in Germany. I love watching documentaries and i'm always amazed by the variety of life forms and noises they make in jungles.

I know a vietnam vet and I asked him about "rock apes". This dude is 76 and has no reason to lie. He's not involved with online culture nor does he have social media. he just lives at home with his wife so his credibility is sky high. He said "oh yeah! heh heh those big furry people. crazy. never saw one but I definitely heard of them. i tell ya" that's all he said.

@@BrokenStrings231 oh yeah all that oil the US doesn't have and belongs to the Afghans....I mean if your going to perpetuate the jokes we make up about our own governtment (like beating a dead horse) at least keep it to Iraq instead of the retaliation war for the trade center bombing. Not saying Afghanistan doesn't have oil, but it's definately not a pointless war compared to Iraq.
@BrokenStrings231
@BrokenStrings231 4 жыл бұрын
@@paitrynpait9664 Can't say that I disagree with your opinion. I just think its pointless because both countries could have more profits if they rather decided to trade. There's also the fact that the USA has started a fair amount of wars and killed civilians with the atom bombs. I know they wanted to free the world, save it, but killing civilians is just cruel (a lot of countries still do that). USA is just a mess in short, thanks to a lot of things besides conflicts in Iraq, Afganistan and Iran. I just think that by deciding to trade rather than fight, both countries could be more proseprus.

The "Minnesota Iceman" was claimed to have been brought back dead from Vietnam by an airforce captain. Two scientists studied the iceman when it first went on display. They wrote a book about what they discovered in examining it. They even said it smelt like a dead animal. After this the owner of the cadaver, took out of public view and later it appeared as though the real item had been replaced with a model.

I had no idea this video was going to be about the "Rock Apes" when I clicked this! I had a VA patient tell me about the "Rock Apes" 25 years ago. He said they were dangerous because they tossed large rocks at them. He stated they had to resist shooting at them because the soldiers did not want to give away their position. I assumed they were chimpanzee sized and never asked how big they were.

I am from vietnam. We called this creature as Người Rừng. Some tribesmen in the da lak province caught this creature in 1971 and killed it. So far i have never heard of this creature attacking anyone unlike their northern borneo cousins who are very aggressive. They avoid humans but i have heard them howl at night not far from my village. I know the sounds of every animal in the jungle near my village but this is way too scary even for the experience hunters in my village. P.S. my grandad was a vietcong and had killed a number of american soldiers. My condolence to their families.

In 1988, I drove semi truck. Had a load from Denver to Casper, Wyoming. Going up I-25, about 20 miles from Wyoming border I picked up a young Sioux male Indian. On his way to Sioux Res. He told me they had a bigfoot community near top of a mountain on the Reservation. It was a sacred space to them, so they never went up there. But every once in a while, a Sasquatch would come down and kidnapp a child cause there child had died. The Indians, (use to this,) would mount a search and recover mission, go up there and get the Indian child back. Now that's a story few have ever heard.

When I was in the US Army serving in the Pacific Northwest my platoon Sergeant came back from the treeline, visably shaken. This was no small thing because he stood about six foot seven and was a veteran of the first Gulf War. He said something was following him that walked on two legs and was bigger than him. There were a few tales of soldiers encountering Bigfoot in the area. I never really believed them until that day. My father-in-law is also an Army veteran. He served in Vietnam. I'll have to ask him about Rock Apes.

Creature? No. In SEA people who live near the jungle know that jungle is not only a resident for creature. When they want to go through the jungle they always do a blessing ceremony to protect them from something that lurking in there. In Thailand it called "Phee gonggoy" Phee means ghost and gonggoy is it's name. It's not an Animal/creature like Yeti/Big Foot. Well, people believe it's some kind of a demon.

My dads platoon was the type of platoon that would go out for days. Some would go out and come back to the fire base on a daily routine. Not my dads. They would leave a fire base or FOB then patrol out to a pick up point sometimes days away. He told me that they encountered these Rock Apes several times. He said they were 4-5ft tall. They would set up on ledges and cliffs then hurl big rocks down on US and VC patrols. On several times his platoon would return fire on them. I remember him telling me a couple of different stories but didnt think anything of it until seeing this video. I wish I could ask him about it but he died Jan 2019.

There are two schools of thought when the topic of bigfoot or sasquatch comes up. One group believes them to be an undiscovered ape. The other (in which I am starting to agree with) is that they are more closely related to humans rather than apes. Mind boggling unknown animal species are discovered and documented regularly. What do you actually think “the government” think they would benefit from withholding the discovery of another one? They must have known in some way the Americans were being pushed out. The majority of the accounts are that the rock apes stayed away from the coastline. All the fighting in the deep jungle was in their home, it was vital that it stopped. They made sure the threat was seen off to the edge of their known territory. They had to see with their own eyes, they had to make sure the fighting would stop. Thats interesting, that shows a greater intelligence.
