Update. Bought one. Absolutely love it. The tablet holder works well and the speakers are plenty loud. Guess that is because the treadmill is pretty quiet. The fan, not so great. Thank you. I watched several other of your reviews but I decided to buy the F63 because of your video. This is my first day so it has not yet stood the test of time, however it seems to be very durable and well built. My favorite part is that the console is simple and not fancy so I believe our money is going towards quality rather than electronics. iFit does not interest me at all and I'm glad I was not forced into paying for the hardware for it. I paid $1000 at Dick's sporting goods. Grab it while you can. They seem to be going fast. The store closest to me was out of stock so I had to drive a bit to get one and they only had 3 left.

@TreadmillReviewGuru2 жыл бұрын
Good question! Finding a treadmill that won't disturb downstairs neighbors is a constant challenge. Pretty much any treadmill makes a thudding sound just due to the impact of your foot on the belt. Running is louder than walking and larger users tend to generate more noise. Some of our recommendations for particularly quiet treadmills are: Horizon 7.8AT. It's not compact, but it is durable and quiet. The Sole F80 is another good mid-size option. Smaller units include the Nordictrack EXP 10i and ProForm 2000. All four of these treadmills fold up to clear floor space when not in use. If you want something super compact, look at the ProForm City L6. It's extremely small and folds flat, but it has a smaller motor and deck as well. It's food for walking but maybe not as much running.

@TreadmillReviewGuru4 жыл бұрын
The F65 is a good starting treadmill for runners and joggers. You are on the upper end for speed and distance. If your budget permits, you could consider the F80. It only $200 more and has a 3.5 HP motor, which is just a step up from the 3.25 HP motor on the F65. However, if you are only running twice per week, you should be fine. Sole builds durable, quality machines, with a full lifetime warranty on the frame and motor.

Thanks for the review. I purchased one. Is it normal for it to get louder once your on it?
@TreadmillReviewGuru3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there is more foot noise when you are walking on the belt than when it just runs in the background. When you step on it, the belt rests against the deck and this makes a "whooshing" sound that is incidental to all treadmills. It's not just the F63.

The Sole F63 has a 3.0 horsepower motor and moderate cushioning in the deck. It is right at the threshold of what we recommend for fast/long running. Some users don't find it has enough cushioning for longer distances. In general we recommend users who plan to run faster than 6mph for longer than an hour look for something over 3.0hp. The F80 has 3.5hp and more cushioning but the price jumps a bit. You will probably be fine with the F63 but the F80 is worth a look if it's within your budget.

Your model was from 4 years ago, I see. I just went over to Dick's Sporting Goods (May, 2024) to look at their Sole F63 and noticed that it is missing the two rocker switches for incline and speed control on the arms and it uses the kick stick to lower the platform instead of the yellow lever handle. I wonder why they removed those features off of their new models? I also like the display on your model better. The quarter mile track fills the whole screen whereas on the new models it only fills a quarter of the screen. I might as well buy the F80 instead.

@@TreadmillReviewGuru Great suggestion, thanks. I did check it out. I checked out the F63 and F80 at the local Dick's Sporting Goods store and the F63 tried to kill me. What I DON'T like - as an 80 year old guy - is the lack of speed and incline adjustment on the side handles. Reaching forward to the console tends to disrupt my balance and I wind up stepping one foot on the track and one foot on the side rail. It tried to kill me. The OTHER problem are those textured sleeves on the side handles. Feels good for keeping your balance, right? Except they slide right off as the track is pulling you backwards. If there were rocker switch controls on the side handles then that would keep those textured sleeves from sliding off. Other than that, you can't beat the value for the current $ 1,000 price. I like the nice bright display screen, too. But, I might have to go with the F80 even though it has a dim display screen. It has those big paddles to adjust speed and incline instead of me having to reach way up to the console to do that.

For $999 USD I was expecting ~$1499 in Canada, but it's sitting at $1999. What the hell? I would love this treadmill but that's an insane price difference. For $1999, there is an unnecessary level of redundancy. Make the side rail buttons more responsive (maybe a CPU bottleneck) with an option to increase speed/incline numbers quickly by holding the buttons down, move the speakers to the sides of the display, shrink the display bezel and ditch the fan, if not allow it to rotate down further. This would shrink the entire top and bottom console by a good third, simplify the electronics and save build costs while maintaining quality and usability. 🤷♂️ It would be interesting to have some insight into the design/manufacturing process. There's got to be a reason fitness equipment manufacturers can't seem to make a clean and modern looking console. The rest of the treadmill looks high quality, and as you say, the warranty on offer no doubt attests to that. If you're going to sacrifice in any one area, I guess the console is the only place you'd want to do it. Shame though.

We wouldn't recommend lifting the front of the deck. This could compromise the integrity of the deck as you run on it and possibly cause damage to the underside of the treadmill. Most folding treadmills only incline to 15%. However, incline trainers that do not fold up will incline higher. The Nordictrack x11i inclines to 40% -- I know it's a big jump in price, but if incline is of value to you, then you could consider an incline trainer. I ordered one two weeks ago. They said delivery would be September 15th. To my surprise it was delivered last Thursday. Yesterday the guys from Go Figure were to set up the treadmill. I'm all set and ready to go!

Thanks Jack. I'm all "jacked" to borrow your name. Enjoy your vacation and stay safe my friend. We annually are in New Orleans for a week over the 4th of July for a music festival. But no go this year due to COVID-19. Only the second time in 21 years we've missed.

Thanks for this. I Power walk, dont need fancy bells and whistles. Researched and read horror stories of other treadmill companies and their customer service. This is still out of my price range, darn it. I know we get what we pay for but still..So guess ill wait. :(

Does this treadmill let you enter your weight, for an accurate calorie reading?

Yes. You can also do this on the Sole fitness app which will sync with the machine

Is this or the f 80 better for runners? TIA
@TreadmillReviewGuru3 жыл бұрын
We'd recommend the F80 for runners. It has a larger motor to support longer runs and a faster pace.
@davidgorman85783 жыл бұрын
@@TreadmillReviewGuru Thank you for your reply. If I used this 2 to 3 times a week at 18 to miles running between speed of 5 and 7 would the f80 still be best option. I am recovering from achilles tenditis so hence why I am not all crazy about spending the extra money for the f80 at present time. TIA.
@TreadmillReviewGuru3 жыл бұрын
@@davidgorman8578 If you're only using it 2 to 3 times per week you should be fine. We recommend that runners who train 4x per week for longer than 6miles and faster than 6mph upgrade to the F80. If you plan to use it less than that or for fewer sessions, it should be fine. Sole equips their treadmills with strong, durable motors and they are one of the few companies that still offer a full lifetime warranty on the frame and motor. You just don't want to tax the motor or push it too hard too frequently, but if you are the only user and your sessions are just a few times per week, the F63 should be plenty powerful.

Can you pause your workout and not lose the progress? I don't want to lose progress if I step away for 1 minute. Edit: I looked it up. you can pause for up to 5 minutes by pressing the stop button.
@TreadmillReviewGuru3 жыл бұрын
Correct, you can pause on the F63 for five minutes.

Si why can’t this be used for running?
@TreadmillReviewGuru2 жыл бұрын
It can. But it is right on the cusp of what we recommend for distance and/or speed running. The 3.0hp motor is plenty powerful for most types of use. Running is high impact and generates a lot of torque on the deck. If you plan to train for longer distances, the Sole F80 or F85 are more powerful and will provide more cushioning for those longer runs.

I ordered this treadmill 2 weeks ago (waiting for shipment) now after watching this video I feel like I didn't make the right choice as I want to do 3 mile runs 2-3 times a week. I don't run too fast, I vary from 4.8-5.0 is this treadmill gonna be good for that? Thanks!
@TreadmillReviewGuru4 жыл бұрын
You should be just fine. The F63 will support your amount of running. The motor is strong and capable. If you planned to run 6+mph for more than 5 miles per day, I would probably recommend upgrading to the F80. But I think based on your projected usage, this is the best machine for you.
