Yet again another great vid. One small point - GBII was a veteran of all six Whitbread Round The World races not the '73 Americas Cup (20:00).

Another great video. Mind you Dave, you had me worried about Dave… I thought he had lost the top half of his head in some bizarre boating accident. It was only when I could see it was still there towards the end of the Video that I could relax and stop wrapping the first aid box off my boat to send to you. Next time you venture up to Newport you could try Quay Arts Cafe for Coffee and Cake if the tide is ebbing too fast for a pub lunch. Oh and I agree Dave is not looking his years so carry on sailing Dave and I wish you both many more years of happy sailing.

Hi guys, I'm a duel citizen British/Canadian. In British Colombia the word means several things but mainly it is used to describe something well made/built, it can mean other things too.... its Pacific North west jargon. Anyway, that's where it comes from and it's stuck as a 'handle' for me and a small business I had.... glad you two are getting out and working up an appetite for a change ! Ha!

Well I get a mention in passing but something about going aground…. Not me although I did hit bottom just South of where Dave O went 45degs. Come on Dave R that was no America’s cup boat it is the very famous GBII which is a veteran of the very first Whitbread Round the World Race in 1973. Designed by Alan Gurney and Chay Blyth was skipper with a crew of Paras coming second to Sayula II and she did 6 races in total. Hoping someone gets her going for the Ocean Globe Race which is a retro Whitbread race coming soon. Nice video though but not so relaxing if you are anxious to get out on the tide. Until next time. Andy U.K.

Hey guys, we had a nervy trip up to Newport, to dry out our fin keel opposite the pub, to have a clean and inspection before we left for a France. First time we had gone so far in the 'green' bits, but prepared us for the French canals😬

Great video . Newport is one of my most favourite places to stay . They have now dredged the pontoons so some boats stay a float at low tide also the water does have a fairly long stand before it starts to flow back out. Over the years I have seen a few fin keelers get it wrong on the key side and end up have there mast almost touching the bargmans rest side of the key. Cheep to stay £18 a night as well. Keep up the good work. Love to have a sailing boat but wife having none of it so it’s a motor boat for me but love watching people sail.

Good to hear from you Shaky. Motor or sail doesn’t matter. Being on the water is what matters. Stay safe.
