These are great. The suitcase itself is incredibly well made and worth the price. If you aren't in the market for a new suitcase or the price point on this is too high for you, there are plenty of hanging compartments just like the ones that come with this suitcase you can easily fit in your current suitcase

Mine just came today! I was excited till I packed it and realized I could not close it. you cant use the mesh compartment if you use the shelf's. Also the bottom of the shelfs a bit to big so its tuff to close it! Love the look of it but not practical. Ill be sending mine back.

I do hope you didn't send it back and realized even if it seems like it won't close it will with a little more force applied to the outside. If you just over packed then you may need the larger bag. 😂 Also I have found the best way to pack and fold the closet into the bag is to lay the bottom in the case and just continue compressing accordion style until the whole insert is laying in the case. Then use the compression straps to hold it in it's compressed state. That leaves more room in the bag on sides and top of closet insert. Plus you can still fill up the lid!

But I must say there's a difference between being OCD and very meticulous about organization; the latter can be annoying but potentially super useful, the former can be quite debilitating. I purchased the Carry-On Plus, and have used it twice. The “closet” part can not be packed full, because the stack will not collapse enough to fit into the space; my husband and son had to sit on it to close it. It is perfect for a weekend trip, but useless for a 3 week cruise, or European tour.

The space taken up by the divider is not the difference between 2-3 days of clothes and 2-3 weeks. Even if it takes up 20% of the space in the suitcase, that's a couple of days worth of additional clothing at most. The relevant issue is access to laundry facilities. With that, a case like this, along with a personal/under-seat bag, would hold enough to last through an extended stay. If you don't want to do laundry while you are gone, no unit of this (or any) size will last three weeks.

Kelly Everhart yea I was worried about this! There was only one airline where I needed to check my carry on (Solgaard) because they only allowed one bag. I didn’t have issues with size of my backpack though - ever.

I’m a pilot and am looking forward to this. My issue is I find I can’t put any shoes or sandals in the zippered lid and close the case. I have to keep it unzipped and rolled out of the way, and it’s still hard to close. I’m afraid I’ll damage the case or the closet over time if I even try to use the shoe compartment in the lid. Do you find this to be true also? Won’t the zipper lining tear? It seems to be a common complaint. How’s it working for you?

I havent had issues. First of all, Solgaard says there's a lifetime warranty on the shelving unit...so if anything happens, as for a new one. Sandals should fit just fine in the top compartment even if they press against the shelving. Also, I like to make the shelving piece as compact as possible and place items next to it. So you may be able to put your shows below and other garments in the top part instead. I agree it's difficult to put shoes that are hard in the top compartment. I had issues with that as well.

Solgaard has stated the outside material is unbreakable so if you need to put shoes in the mesh lid and sit or stand on the case to get it closed you can do that. Lol If it happens to break, Solgaard will replace it for you. Hope this helps and you found a way to make it work for you.
