Love this instruction. A good step by step approach, simplified and easily understandable.

Hi John Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad the drills have been helping your golf game. You can definitkley use the same drills to help you with the longer clubs. Just keep in mind that there will not be a divot with the driver as the club will be travelling more level at impact instead of down. Keep up the good work and all the best for the rest of the golf season. Derek

TroonGolfAcademyLOI love how every Tom Dick and Harry who couldn’t possibly ever cut it on the Pro tour likes to whip up a fake poorly executed Australian accent and profess to the world that they’re good instructors. Guy doesn’t even have a high definition camera, working out of some shantytown basement with egg white painted walls. Folks, if you want "instant secrets to hitting it perfectly" the only recipe is practice, and practicing the right way, and then going back and practicing again for hours and hours. Otherwise you’ll just be like every other putter pusher and driver duffer clogging up fairways and digging through fescue & thicket across golf courses everywhere. Don’t listen to these KZbin wannabe golf cowboys all hopped up on the latest fad, with their bad fake accents trying to sound like seasoned pros. It’s like buying a "magic diet pill that will make you skinny instantly" on the tele and then never hitting the gym or eating healthy. There are no secret tips under the bonnet, these gents are nothing more than modern day snake oil salesmen slinging the same nonsense you can buy in any discount Golf for Dummies book. Get out there and walk the courses, don’t ride the buggies, work on the game, it’s the only way to get better.

Hi Arthur, glad you liked the video. The point of pressing the club into the turf as you rehearse impact is so that you get the feeling of the pressure on the right index finger (for a right handed player) similar to what you experience at impact. So you want some pressure but don't try to break the club shaft. At impact the hips should be rotated between 25 and 55 degrees open to the target line. I hope that helps and all the best with your golf game. Derek

Hi Hieu, thanks for the question. If you have done the drills outlined in this video every day for two weeks and are able to do them easily, you can then move on to the drills in the second video. I hope that helps and all the very best with your golf game Derek

Hi tdela, thanks for the the question. The length of time you need to do the drills until you progress to those in the second video will vary from player to player. I would suggest at least a week though of doing them for 10 minutes every day, and then try to progress. If you are struggling with the drills in the second video then you need to spend more time on the drills in the first episode. I hope that helps and keep up the practice. Trooner, thanks for the tips on hitting the sweet spot. Jack nicklaus would agree with you and he had the best follow through in the game ever with the left arm straight and right wrist bent through contact> brilliant cheers

Derek, Good morning. Thanks for that video, very detailed and useful. One question that I have , please : I can practice the drills as per the video every day for a week or two, or three etc. How do I know after these (one, two or three) weeks that I have mastered these drills, so that I can start with the video 2 ? Thanks

Derek- Thank you for the video. It has been a great tool to help my swing and I am trying to use it to get back into golf after years of not playing. Your right about the practice needed to see results and I have watched Part 2, but still working with Part 1 to progress to Part 2. Can the same drills be used with hybrids, woods and the driver? Any other pointers when I work with these clubs? Thank you again, John P.

Some tricks to making better contact: stick butt out more, raise chin an inch. This will flatten your swing and turn your Vshaped swing into a u shaped swing. Light, light, light grip! this helps contact immensely. Take 3 practice swings first, concentrating on divot position.

Or, you can skip all this and just go buy a hybrid...A 25 degree hybrid will cover up a lot of mistakes and you can actually PLAY golf.
