Look, if you want to begin, you have a couple of choices . 1- the master collection vol.1, it contains the msx game or 8 bit games mg1/mg2 solid snake, and it has the 3d ones mgs1/mgs2/mgs3 and a couple of cool things . It never made any god damn sense why Big Boss would have the same voice as Solid Snake anyway. Because that's not how accents work. Accents aren't genetic. A clone of someone wouldn't sound the same as the original, unless they were raised in the exact same place at the exact same time by the exact same parents. Like twins, for example. Even things like diet, drug use such as nicotine and alcohol, level of pollution etc can have huge effects on someone's voice. Yes Big Boss and Solid Snake both smoked, but that's not enough on its own to make them both sound like David Hayter. Are we supposed to believe that Big Boss and Solid Snake spoke with the exact same accent while they served together in Foxhound for _YEARS_ and absolutely nobody else in Foxhound noticed and pointed it out to them? There's a reason why Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake sound entirely different to Solid Snake despite the 3 of them being genetically triplets. Because they were raised in different parts of the world by different people. Liquid was raised in the UK, which is why he has one of the hundreds of different accents of England, and doesn't have an American accent. Kiefer Sutherland is _THE_ definitive voice of Big Boss, and David Hayter is _THE_ definitive voice of Solid Snake. That should be that. If only they could get Kiefer Sutherland back for the MGS 3 remake, but sadly they're just re-using the same sound files as the original. Ugh. Oh well. I love David Hayter, he's the best voice actor in the series. But he's not Big Boss. It just always felt like fan service, because people were throwing hissy fits over playing most of MGS 2 as Raiden instead of Snake, and so they got David Hayter to play Naked Snake even though naked/big boss is not the same person. It's especially dumb because it goes back on everything the first game was talking about, all the themes, the conclusion of MGS 1 being that genetics don't determine the course of your life, and who you are is up to you and what you choose to do with your life, not what is encoded in your DNA. Then MGS 3 throws that all out of the window. It's a shame.

@@Salidus1_1 that'd be very cool, 3D remakes of MG 1 & 2 with Keifer Sutherland as big boss. Though even just getting the guy who did the voice of Big Boss in MGS 4 would be better. Keep Solid Snake as David Hayter too. The only problem is that, especially with MG 2, it's really quite shocking how so many of the ground breaking and 4th wall breaking tricks of MGS 1 & 2 were already in MG 1 & 2 first lol, so they weren't really groundbreaking at all, it's just that nobody in the west played the 2D games before they got re-released as part of MGS 3 Subsistence. But yeah MGS 1 is practically a remake, lol. Like I'm sure I've heard they did stuff like reading your save data for other games like Psycho Mantis did, and stuff like that. But honestly that's not exactly a huge deal, people would love them anyway, I mean MGS 2 is pretty much explicitly a remake of mgs 1, that was a big moment in the story when Ocelot revealed that, but it's regarded as the masterpiece that it is, these days. So yeah MG 1 & 2 need remakes more than any other game in the series. MGS 3 was the one that least needed a remake IMO. It was already nigh on perfect as it is (or at least, the subsistence version anyway, with the far better camera). Only thing the game really needs is to eliminate menu usage as much as possible. Put in a map that's always on screen instead of having to keep opening and closing the pause menu to see the map, which is really quite necessary when you're using the 3rd person canara and not the top down one that always retains the cardinal directions (otherwise you find yourself having to flick constantly back and forth between camera types with the R3 stick just to remember where you are, in the jungle settings where every direction looks the same) And find a way to change camouflage without needing the pause menu either, so sections like groznyj grad where you need to change back and forth from normal camo to scientist/GRU officer camo over and over again can be made much less tedious. Even if it's just a quick change between two different nominated camos, and then to change to any others you go into the pause menu, that alone would be much better. But yeah these are still minor problems overall, really. I'll wait for reviews obviously, but I'm almost certain I'll buy the MGS 3 remake. But remaking MGS 1 & 2 with modern graphics and MGS 5 style cut scenes with the fantastic cinematography, and allowing you to listen to codec calls while sneaking around instead of on the separate codec screen, these would be great quality of life improvements, and just would be very cool to see. MGS 5 doesn't need a remake either, it just needs to be finished. But that'll never happen. Portable Ops and Peace Walker could do with remakes. Even combine them into one package, one big game with two different missions/campaigns. They could re-use the engine and assets they're using for the MGS 3 remake, to make it cheaper, quicker and easier for them. Just give them console graphics instead of handheld graphics (Peace Walker HD doesn't really count). But yeah you're absolutely right. MG 1 & 2 need remakes above all else. We could get David Hayter back to do the voice of Solid Snake. Maybe we could get the fella who did the voice of Grey Fox back in to do the voice again. Stuff like that. It'd be fun. We could get Master Miller voiced by the guy who played him in MGS 5. And yeah Kiefer Sutherland as Big Boss would be very cool. It'd require a lot of work though cos Big Boss talks to you on the codec a lot. But Konami have the money. However, again, even getting in the guy who voiced Big Boss in MGS 4 would work too.

@duffman18 I think if we got this timeline, it would be great 1- mgs3 remake, I hope it is good 2- a remastered version of mgs pw and mgs4 because they are re good and I think thay new new and improved controls and a small visual upgrade for mgs4 and a big one for peace walker ‏‪ because the low resolution of it was really bad 3- a remake of mg1/2 and mgs1 in a single desk because mg1/2 are really ‏‪0:01‬‏ short, and adding mgs1 with them will be a great addition to the remake like exploring outer heaven as a young solid snake and then playing mg2 as a more experienced solid, then playing as the legend after going throughout all the outer heaven and zanzibar land and finishing it with shadow mosses Island would be so cool like even if the did this mgs3 remake will be the ground of this dream remake. 4- and remake of mgs2
