FIY, Buso Audio makes custom desks for the controllers. Ordered mine and getting it delivered in 2 weeks. Just a tip for those whom are looking for something more advanced then just a desk stand thing.

I've seen their website and I dont remember them making custom desks. Was it a special order and how much was the desk?
@RustyNotesTV Жыл бұрын
@HomeRecordingMadeEasy yes! Its the producer control desk. Just email them with whatever units you have, and they will make the desk from that. I have one UF1, one UC1 and 2 UF8. I think they charge like $150 or something to have it custom made to your measurements. Waiting times have been horrible though. They said 8 to 10 weeks, but I've been waiting like 4 - 5 months now.

Ok, I will check them out. Waiting 5 months is insane. It seems like a lot of these studio desk companies are having long wait times. Dangerous Fox, people are waiting almost a year from what I have been told which is totally crazy. It may be easier to have a local wood-woker just make one.

@HomeRecordingMadeEasy oh yeah 100%, if I had known I would never have ordered from them. The communication hasn't been great either, you constantly need to email them to get updates. In their defense, they had a lot of trouble with materials etc, maybe because of the war and covid. But still... thank God one has other hobbies. But yeah, I haven't been able to sit and do/mix music since May last year really :(

I was thinking about something like this but in the end I cut some wood sticks and extended the legs so the screens are perfectly placed like a monitor . I also angle the 2 side units like the uc1 and uf1 so i have maximum visibility of all the controls. This is really cool though.

Hi Dave, I have a question. I have the bundle from of Slate and SSL monthly subscription. Been using Slate many years and I am new to SSL products. The software is installed and I am trying to get the SSL plugins to work with Studio Pro 6 I did set up Mackie as my Controller . But I notice I can not complete the setup and I cannot find any information if I have to purchase the SSL UF1 to activate Studio One with the 360 plugin to use the plugins? Could you please let me know. Thanks!

I have no idea. I never heard of that. You may want to contact SSL for support or try one the FB groups

Me too... but the website doesn't seem to have any kind of pricing. How much are we talking for the 3 bay SSL version?

Send them an mail for a quote. it depends on the choice of wood, armrest material etc..

Very nice. But my problem with studio furniture of any kind, not just these units, is the cost. I can go out to my shed and build my own in a morning for a fraction of the cost. MixEnds are at least solid wood and nicely hand finished. But most of the big names in studio desks are made from plywood or mdf which doesn’t justify the cost. For example, a few years ago I investigated getting an Argosy desk. The cost was going to be around £6000 to get one in the UK. So I spend hours studying their plans and assembly guides and designed my own custom version. Ended up costing a tenth of a real Argosy and is every bit as solid and well constructed. So that leaves me with over £5K for other studio gear. I know it’s not for everyone, but if you have a bit of diy skill I seriously recommend that route over pre-built stuff.

Well, for most of us who dont have the building skills, i have to resort paying for this sort of thing. However, if you can build it yourself, then go do it. You will save a lot of money

That's ok, many others have said the stands are well worth the money and if you are looking for a professional center-piece look for your studio, you wont find one any nicer than this

Very nice. I like how it’s somewhat portable and plug and play with one power connector and one USB. Question: How do you use this with your Origin workflow? I have a SSL 4K console and can see this being awesome side desk to the console with computer monitor. SSL just added custom mapping for third party plugins to their 360 software. This has me reconsidering my workflow due to this major update.
