Yes, it can. MXM 3.0b cards of all kinds would work, but make sure the heat sinks and bracket are compatible. For example, if your Dell came with an ATi/AMD graphics card you would be able to to swap it out with, say, up to an HD8970M 4GB card. (Nvidia fans have the GeForce GTX 6XXM/7XXM/8XXM cards.) As for the processor, there are plenty of choices available from the 2nd & 3rd generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 family.

Very helpful for M6800 as well. Just had to (in addition) remove a small extra plastic cover to upgrade the under-the-keyboard memory (1 extra screw). Thanks for all the little (but important) hints. Upgraded from 4x 4GB (16GB total) to 4x 8GB (32 total, Crucial brand). No issues. Temporarily, I also had 8GBs in bottom slots (Crucial brand), and 4GBs in top slots (Samsung brand) under the keyboard (24GB total) - worked ok too.

my understanding is, you MUST use the same size RAM sticks in bottom as you have under the keyboard. for example, if you want to put 2 sticks of RAM in the bottom that are 8GB each, the ones under the keyboard MUST be 8GB size too. i think there is also a special placement to make sure the sticks work together! so watch out for that. let's see if this link works for you. www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/SLN291056?docLang=EN

What I want to know is how to replace the PRIMARY HD. I've yet to see a video on how to do it. I don't just want to add more, and I know how to take the 2'nd & 3'rd ones out (you show how to in your videos). But the primary one must be lodged into this sucker really good. Keep in mind I have an M6800, not 6600, but they're nearly identical, so I assumed it'd be the same case with both. I need to get the primary HD out of this thing, stick another one in it's place then use it to write zeroes to it as it's in the 2'nd HD slot (the one that slides out). Or is that slide out compartment one really the primary HD in the 6600? In the 6800 it isn't. And although that bay beside the optical drive says (HDD2), it's really a 3'rd HD bay.

There is a black or dark gray clip on the ribbon connector that releases pressure on the ribbon. Pull straight up on the clip or use a plastic prying tool to lift it up. This makes it so you can easily insert the ribbon and then push the clip down to secure it.

why do you have to unplug the keyboard at the ribbon because when you unscrew and lift up the keyboard the ram is accessible?

I have a cap on RAM slots (c,d) under beyboard with prohibition sign. Installed there RAM do not work, laptop do not start. Does somebody know, why? everything all right when install ram in bottom(a,b) slots.
