Here's a tier list I made for fun ranking all of the Path of Exile ascendancies based off of 3.23 affliction league ranking the power, defenses and versatility.

I have a sick hope that the Affliction Charm system was a soft test for what they want a reworked Ascendant to be like. The way it levels and the huge number of skill points it gets just make the whole class so awkward. A simpler system that lets you mix and match different ascendancies is all I want and seems to be what Affliction Charms offered. Just let me unlock them by going down different trees then mix and match. Maybe a weak and strong charm for each Ascendency?

I feel bad for Raider. Wish Avatar of the Slaughter was generic damage and cast & attack speed instead of just attack speed. Would give it a shot as a Trapper then.

The issue with having just one really good node is it just gets stolen by the jewels. They are kind of a big problem for balance because of that. So they really need to make ascendancies with synergistic nodes. Raider does have synergistic nodes except they are all easily replaced by items now that we have the ailment jewels, onslaught on kill on tree, etc.

I think hiero is an s tier ascendancy, it’s a build that scales offence with defence with a high ceiling

Maybe if mana was stronger but it's kind of niche right now. S basically means it dominates other ascendancies on meta builds and mana isn't really meta yet.

Pretty solid list, imo. I agree especially with your occultist take, I'm always happy to play one. The pops, the power charges, I even like the freezing nodes (hello screen wide Cold BV prolifs!). I'm really, really hoping Assassin and Glad get some love tomorrow. They are the only ascendancies left I really want to play but just can't find a good enough reason to do so.

here's how you rework ascendant imo: the class notables need to do something adjacent to what their corresponding ascendancy classes do but have as little overlap as possible. so if you're going ascendant its because it is build enabling, not because you're judging based on efficiency. the design goal here is to be zany/niche. i'd love to see a feature implemented where the passives interacted with what other passive ascendancies you selected.

Consider making the tier lists seperated into low, high, mirror budget. One tier list for each budget. It would really flesh out what the ascendancies are good at.

Guardian was an A tier last league before some nerfs and is still quite strong but really just for elemental SRS let’s be honest lol

My list as a random no body and before watching your video to see if my mind can be changed. Ascendant: Rework honestly. It is insanely good when it is the right build and honestly the worse when it isn't. Assassin: It feels like the Poison nodes are kind of too far behind so I would say rework Berserker: Is A or B tier. B in 3.23 and more than likely A in 3.24 with the new helm. Champ: A or S. It is by far one of the tankest out of them and it is great for impale builds Chieftain: I have a hard place putting it on the list but I would say maybe B. It is insanely tanky and can deal a lot of damage but overall feels awful to play. 3.24 I might say A for people who like Slams. It MIGHT be worth it. I don't like slams though so B is the highest I can personally give it. Deadeye: A in 3.23 and more than likely B in 3.24 with TS nerfs. Elementalist: Rework. It has this super weird "I want to be a summoner" feel to it and I don't like it. (This is coming from someone who use to main carry me golems on said class) Glad: Dogshit tier sadly. Bleed overall is in a horrible spot honestly. Going max block glad just feels awful now. It needs a rework. I was really hoping for it to be reworked this league but sadly nope. Guardian: 3.23 A, 3.24 B the nerf was a strange one in my opinion. They nerfed the wrong part. The Sentinel was only good in the Acts and fall off later. But for some reason GGG seems to want us to go through the acts as slow as possible even though 90% of all ARPG players couldn't care less about the story to the game. Hiero: Seems like a good spot BUT it feels like it is trying to do too many things. I would want it to be reworked just to really focus it out. Maybe be all totems and Brands and get rid of the mana stuff I think. Inquisitor: Is B I think. BUT I would also want it reworked because the left side just seems bad. I don't know a single person who uses the left side. Juggernaut: Is in a good place right now more than likely B Necro: Basically getting a rework already. 3.23 B 3.24 A more than likely but only if you are going chaos damage with unholy might (if it is getting the same change was player Unholy might at least) Occultist: A more than likely but personally I think it is B. Pathfinder: S it is just too good. Raider: It is very good but seems boring. Only build I really enjoy with raider is Flicker strike phy-cold. Rework would be nice but I honestly have no clue what they could do with it. Sabo: Pretty good after the rework it got. A tier for builds that actually use mines/traps. Not great for using only the trigger bots imo. Slayer: Feels outdated but it is pretty good. Rework but without B or A tier. trickster: Slayer but updated. A If I were to fully change 1 of them though it would be Chieftain. I want a summoner for non-undead creatures (cleanly more would have to be added to the game but having wolves from the unique ring and/or claw as an actually skill gem would be nice to start with. I think Raider could be changed to this too if people think that makes no sense for chieftain. They could call it beastmaster instead of raider. Follows closely with the ranger theme in other RPGs too.

I did this before watching and was pretty similar except I have Champion and Deadeye as S tier (and not Slayer, IMO S tier shouldn't be reliant on a single item for all its power). I also lowered Guardian/Necro since I hate minions ;)

Just for a point on totems with Heiro. IMO you can't really do many things with spell totems without Heiro and have them be better at reasonable investment. I haven't really looked into uber insane budgets, but at that point what ascend your building on because almost moot anyways. You really need Heiro's damage and having Heiro's damage with a complete extra totem is insane.

imo all Templar ascendancies should be in S tier! like they're a "transition class" (between STR and INT on the passive tree), that's what I expect when I play them and they do it exceedingly well!

I get the jokes at the beginning. Remember bro that the more popular you get, the more trolls come out. This breaks quite a few tubers because they get defensive and change what they were doing. You're better than that. People like what you do so keep doing it and ignore the trolls. Otherwise you keep trying to change until you aren't you anymore and you can't figure out why your losing views.

I'm always trying to change, I get bored of doing the same thing over and over. But I was mostly trying to set a lighter tone here as people often take tier lists VERY seriously and that's not what this video is. I was bored, I wanted to have some fun it's not supposed to be taken seriously.

MY OPINION... the relative power of ascendancies is almost entirely dependent on the balance of the game.. Tenkei even hints at that several times in the video. One little balance change and the entire tier list can flip.. say GGG nerfs base projectile speed of all projectile attacks by 50% LESS.. Deadeye suddenly becomes a low play-rate niche ascendancy. The only reason PF feels OP is because it's arguably the only ascendancy with a "unique" identity.. it's the only class that can maintain 100% flask uptime in hideout without a mageblood.. it's also the only class that can poison prolif without a junk unique.. There are a couple classes that I'd argue are close to PF in that sense, but most ascendancies are either generic multipliers, or they solve "problems" that can be solved elsewhere. Projectile hit skills have been broken in PoE for several years, so any ascendancy that synergizes with those skills (deadeye) will seem "OP." But in reality, Chieftain is probably the most absurdly broken ascendancy in the game right now, but nobody really wants to play skills that synergize well with chieftain, so it'll probably go untouched.

Yep, and that's why I clarified this was for the current 3.23 environment and ultimately not too serious/factual but instead based more on how I feel about each atm. The 3.24 patch notes could absolutely upset this entire list putting Pathfinder down in D tier and Assassin up to S tier.

I think ascendant is too powerful to be d tier and if you removed the strength stacking variants of berserker you have rage vortex as the only skill worth playing and its only good for bossing. imo jugg has to be at least a tier. champion and deadeye belong in s tier also. just my opinions on the list from what i've played.

Background music with any detail at all between 300Hz and 3 kHz should be avoided. It gets in the way of speech intelligibility, its not something you can judge for yourself because you know your own voice well and remember what you said. Remember: low to no detail in the speech band. Use a fourier analyser visualiser on the tracks you want to use.

My tier list is funny. Elementist S tier, occultist A tier same with trickster. Pathfinder was S tier my guess it will be A or B this patch. Everything else is C or lower. Nerco used to be S tier but minions are so lame right now.

In the case of the LE video, it wasn't just that it wasn't well received. I've left other videos like that up such as my thoughts on the MG. It's that the criticism I was getting wasn't addressing what I actually said in the video, so either I communicated poorly (most likely since that video was also off the cuff) or people were intentionally misrepresenting what I was saying to make me the bad guy. The community post which was much less rambly/more focused was received a lot better so I think I just need to script critique videos from now on. Usually when I take a video down it's because I'm not happy with it (though that happens pretty infrequently). But it does also get exhausting to see people hate you, and assume you are a horrible person because of your opinions on a video game. It happens every league start too.

Actually he explained it in the video, the rating is entirely dependent on the existence of the Ralakesh's Impatience boots in their current form.
