On the note of making sales, one of the big things to remember is that in general, most items lose value over time. As more and more people play more and more loot floods the market, and unless the items you are buying are extremely hard to make/acquire, items generally deflate in price. To that end, making a sale now and getting cash in hand is usually better than holding out and hoping to get more currency later. The only risk is if a build blows up and prices skyrocket

I sell stuff all the time, but I literally have 39 tabs filled with rares that I sell . I'm bad at knowing when stuff is valuable, so I just toss almost all my rares in my tabs for 1 exalt and while most stuff doesn't sell, some stuff does, and it's allowed me to accumulate lots of exalts. If I get a whisper on something super fast, then I know I"m probably undercutting it and I move up the price. It's kind of like when you sell stuff on ebay. The more stuff you have for auction, the better the chance you will get sales. Keep in mind I also have rarity mods on some of my gear, so I get quite a few more rares than the average person. Also if my rares don't sell after a few days, then I just remove them from my tab and disenchant them.

@@down-the-rabbit-hole selling rares with life es mana double or triple res with rarity is def going to sell fast. With rares being rare like in diablo2 we actually need it as a roll which I don’t mind the chase for loot. But buying cheap pieces to carry me to find better is fun except this system where no in game trade system for gear sucks. It will get like poe 1 where most players won’t wanna leave a map to trade for one exalt items. It’s 😔

yes and no. as gear gets more accessible, currency becomes more valuable as people will try to target craft for specific modifiers. for example, 5 link socket went up by 133%, divs went up by 16%, delirium oils also went up in price, omens went up. vaals increased by 100%, chaos increased by 117%.

ive got 2 quad tabs, one is 5 exalts and the other is 1. if i dont sell stuff i jsut salvage it. moving it to a cheaper tab sounds smarter.

Can't you search for +1 empty/open prefix? I forget the exact wording on it, but could mandate +30% MS, count 1 of flat ES/% ES, 1 empty prefix.

Is there an easy way of telling which prefixes can roll on an item so we can remove them from our search? like you did with life/mana/accuracy, how did you know?

I haven't found a comprehensive list yet, I just did it via "oh I don't want to see that on my item" as searches popped up.

As much as i appreciate the complexity here, this is also what will stop alot of people from playing. Some want to just kill mobs, see loot drop, and trade what they dont want. If this constitutes endgame, this may not be the game for tons.

That's exactly why I'm finishing my current build before playing Archmage. It looks really fun and strong but might poof tomorrow. But this way I'll have a good build to fall back on even if it poofs.

I would be willing to craft more if I didn't have to take time sifting through all the crap that drops. How do you know what to pick up vs not? Unless something says tier 3 or higher i dont even look at it as it slows down gameplay too much

I don't pick up all that much aside of rares. I'm sure some top tier bases are worth identifying but I'd rather go through more maps and pick up less stuff. As for rares; I pick it up then glance at it, dmg on weapons, life or defenses on armor, special stats like +skill level on amulet or movement speed on boots. If it doesn't have any of that vendor/disenchant it is.

What item did you sell for 130 orbs?

The 130 was the invitation to fight the king in the mist. If you mean the big sale of the rare; bsky.app/profile/tenkiei.bsky.social/post/3ldc7tmtoek2l Originally crafted it for myself but then hit the life and figured it was better to sell and craft another. So I went with a 366 ES / dual res / int helmet.

Price check based on the "core" of the item. So an ES helmet, look at ES + Resistances. Then think about life/mana if it's high enough, +30 mana isn't going to move the price on a 300 Es helmet but a 300 ES +100 Mana helmet is going to be worth a lot more than just 300 ES alone.

don't arbitrarily fill boot slots with iron rune if you want max price... people cannot remove the rune ffs

Using Iron Runes maximizes the price on items that sell based on their Armor, Evasion, and Energy Shield because of how the filtering works. Someone is way more likely to buy a 340 ES item with an iron rune than a 300 Es item with an open socket, because the 300 Es item gets buried in the listing.

TBH it's not *quite* as brain off as PoE1, there's still a fair bit of skill comboing and dodging. But I do agree that it's not nearly as involved as A1-3 in the campaign.

What? You put runes in items you want to sell? What if the buying wants a different rune? You just lowered the value of your item!

Iron Runes raise the ES on the item, thus raising the value. Someone will pay a whole lot more for a 340 ES item (even with a rune socketed) than a 300 without.

Because of Trial of the Sekhemas and this obstacle course I don't want to play POE2 anymore. This was not fun and way too difficult.

Ignore the trial for now. Do it when your a few levels up on it no need to do it yet. Also biggest help is go onto the trade site and buy a weapon *at your level* that has lots of damage and can even put runes on it after. If you want to just easy walk over the entire game while mostly just using a basic attack just follow the warrior build guide on mobalitics I think it’s called woollies armour break one.

awful take + its early access they want to test the core of the game which is classes, skills, combat feel, campaign / endgame progression, etc. if they release a brand new mechanic for u would u really be able to call it early access or rather season 1 of the game
