Amazing Tut! Just wanted to know what graphics card you are using...
@goengineer2 жыл бұрын
There are actually 2 answers to this question. All the work in solidworks was done with a Quadro M4000 (this card is no longer being certified.) Then the solidworks data was brought over to SOLIDWOKRS Visualize. The renders were all done with an Nvidia GTX680 Visualize has the ability to use some non-workstation cards.

You can check for the latest Solidworks certified graphics cards here www.solidworks.com/support/hardware-certification/ And here for visualize help.solidworks.com/2022/English/Visualize/c_viz_prereqs_system_reqs.htm?id=4e8b89534f97431f9e1baa88e29a802b#Pg0

Ardi, The best thing to do in a case like this is contact your local VAR's technical support they will be able to look at your specific scenario and help you to a resolution.

Thanks for the great video! Is there a trick to get the motion study timeline into virtualize? Mine doesn't seem to automatically copy over.
@goengineer3 жыл бұрын
If you have Visualize Professional, you’ll want to use the “Export Advanced” option in SW from the SOLIDWORKS Visualize tab on the command manager. From there, choose which motion study you want to export and it will then show up on the timeline region in Visualize Professional. If you don’t see the timeline right away in Visualize Professional, press “T” on your keyboard or go to View>Show Timeline.

I would have exported out to a 3D animation tool like Maya or Blender to do it there... this level of artistry in motion using a mechanical CAD application is like creating a painting of the Mona Lisa with Microsoft Paint(yes it's a thing). Nice job mate!

I've been testing the gltf exporter plugin for SW but the file to use in blender is not smooth like it is in SW, it creates the keyframes but for some reason the transition between frames is not smooth, have you tested this or found a decent workflow?
@ryan65303 жыл бұрын
ok I think I got it to work correctly, you need to select the entire thing in blender and change key frames to bezier and it seems to be smooth now.

how do i export to visualize? the visualize tab is not in my solidworks and i cant add it
@goengineer4 жыл бұрын
You need to make sure you install Visualize. You can do this by modifying your SOLIDWORKS installation. If you have SOLIDWORKS Professional, Visualize Standard comes free with your subscription. If you want to be able to export Animations to Visualize, you will need upgrade/purchase Visualize Professional.

Is it possible to optimize the render process of a motion study? It takes hours for 3 - 5 seconds videos in my personal notebook 2GB Gforce video 8gb ram ddr4 I5 8 gen intel processor No SSD
@goengineer4 жыл бұрын
You can use this: You have a few options: 1. You can render in preview mode. 2. You can choose to render at a lower number of frames per second and lower number of render passes. 3. You can use your Visualize Boost seat on another machine to utilize that machines hardware. 4. You can choose to upgrade your hardware. The reason it takes hours to render is because animations require you to specify how many frames per second you would like to have. The more frames per second, the smoother the animation and more control you have in post processing of the video. This compounded with the number of render passes you choose, and any changes in light reflection, will increase your render time exponentially. If you upgrade your hardware, you’ll want to look for a graphics card with more than 4 GB of VRAM so you can use the Denoiser tool. Here is a video that explains how the denoiser tool works: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZyqg2Z7i9udmJY You’ll also want to make sure you have more GPU cores. The more GPU cores you have, the faster your rendering will be. Visualize does allow you to use multiple GPU’s. By having more GPU’s, Visualize will pool together all cores, across all cards, to help render faster. If you decide to use multiple cards, make sure they all have the same VRAM available. Visualize does not pool together VRAM, so the max amount of VRAM available will be the lowest available on the available cards.

How can I download the folder to make black the background?
@goengineer4 жыл бұрын
You can search the internet for a black rectangle, or make one in PhotoShop, and add it to your plates folder in SOLIDWORKS Visualize. To find out where that folder is located in SOLIDWORKS Visualize, go to Tools>Options>General>Library Paths and under Plates, you will see a directory that shows where it is pointed out. This video will walk you through how to add any images to your plates folder: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4rdhpJue8-IrtU

how add text about parts in soildworks
@goengineer2 жыл бұрын
You can choose to either create the text as a part file, or you can use a post processing video editor like Camtasia/Premiere Pro to add the text. In this case, Camtasia was used.
