For those wondering: the blue spur gear in the assembly *MUST BE FIXED* in order for the gearing mate to work. In case you don't fix it there's a good chance the rotor will not do what's intented to do If you're using a newer version of Solidworks (I think 2019 or newer) you can use the "Rotate Part" with Collision Detection box checked to fine ajust the spur's position The other relations used to align rotors and shaft with the Right Plane are solely for position referencing and not actual movement restriction

It looks like it's loosely based on the 13B. This is NOT a working engine. The Wankel rotor housing is not obround...it's trochoidal! It doesn't even have the correct spark plugs. Surely much easier to model for the sake of this video. You can find actual equations in "Rotary Engine" by Yamamoto.

@@yushanchen4193 just google Yamamoto Rotary engine PDF. But be aware, they are very advanced mathematical equations.

And thought the engine is not using Epitrochoidal equations, which in my opinion are not that hard to use, it's still going to work. Check out the OS rotary rc engine which utilizes the give of the apex seals to make up for the lack of exact rotor/housing shape. Yes it won't be as efficient but it will run. Cheers ;)

hey, yea i did solve it, I found that the center gear the one on the outer housing needs to be mated in place so that it doesnt revolve around the accentric shaft, if you do that the rotor edges should follow the inside of the housing @@marialeboscan2316

@@Pwndaz The center gear (its blue 4:09:31) needs to be fixed so that it does not rotate. If you follow the instrustions correctly and line up the rotor (the triangle in the middle) it should spin around the center gear creating the correct movement and not going through the sides of the housing. RECAP: just make sure that center gear (the blue one) is FIXED in place (does not move)

This was very hard to follow because it's too blurry to read many of the input values. Interesting, but very poor quality video. I stopped at 1:06, because this was just WAY too much work trying to guess all the values I couldn't read, then reworking my sketches, then trying again, etc., etc. Thumb DOWN on this one.
