What keeps the marble from rotating around the cylinder so that it can get translation in the Z direction? The auger or screw needs to push it upwards so the ball needs to keep from rotating around, yes?

I understand the screw should rotate in the opposite direction, then the ball will rise. The animation is not completed to the end, I think.
