Really enjoyed that! What stands out for is that you run in to trouble, and you show us how to fix it! Very important when I'm learning as it would happen to me. Wow this video helped me immensely. Got into estimating and planning at an architectural fab shop and they want me to start drawing in sw and make shop drawings. Have some experience with sw but not weldments, and need to learn sheet as well next. This gave me a lot of tips, great video Tim. And you're gd right I'll be charging $50/HR in the future!

I have been enjoying your videos... Concerning whether to be specific on welding call-outs, I recommend that, if you don't know what is best, ask someone who does. It is better to educate yourself than leave it up to the fabricator, who doesn't necessarily understand the design intent. Welders, just like all other trades, vary in skill and knowledge. Best to let them know exactly what you want than leave it up to them.

Just an observation, but I think you should've chosen the "alignment" option when creating the first (cross) structural member, to align the rear/bottom of the profile with the construction line. That way you could've kept the same dimensions in your underlying sketch as were on the drawing for consistency.

that was a fillet weld symbol (other side) .125 weld size all around.

I suggest you practice before you go online. Also, don’t talk about welding symbols if you are not familiar with them.
