What is the difference between setting 999 to any IP address you want vs the IP address given on the backplane?

HI I am replacing a fail adapter. How do I change the revision from a Ser. C 6.011 to a Ser B 5.015? Thanks in advance.

You will have to flash the firmware just like any other Allen Bradley hardware. Go to the Rockwell download centre, search the part number, download the firmware and use compactflash to update it.

Hi Vlad, thank you for efforts ,i'm new with allen bradley Studio 5000 ,can you hepl me how can add this module 1734-EP24DC inside studio 5000 ,i don't found its firmeware on rockwell site
@vladromanov83805 ай бұрын
Hey, so the 1734-EP24DC is just a power supply without any IO points and can't be added to Studio 5000. Simply ignore that specific module as all it does is provide power to the backplane. Remember that you do need it based on how many modules you have in the rack; the specs are in the manual.

You started this video assuming we were familiar with the hardware you were demonstrating. Was there a video prior to this that you talked about the 1734 AENT?
@SolisPLC5 жыл бұрын
Hey MX3-redux. The video is taken out of the series I'm working on with PointIO. It does mention that there's a continuation of the video prior to this one, but it's still stand-alone from the networking standpoint. I'm planning to release the other videos on the topic, but they may not follow the same timeline as I filmed & processed them. They will all be released within my PLC class on the website as soon as they're ready. Thank you, Vlad - SolisPLC team

@Adam Watson we did! You can see the complete tutorial on PointIO including which modules we recommend for our customers here: www.solisplc.com/tutorials/pointio

Great video. I really enjoy your content. NATR might be a good subject. I have worked with them a lot but originally, it was tough to find information. Keep it coming!
@SolisPLC4 жыл бұрын
That's a good suggestion. I've been trying to get my hands on a NAT capable device. My Stratix is of a base type, therefore it doesn't support it. I'll put something together soon.

Hi SolisPLC, one question, the tool can be used anytime we need to change the IP address of a device, or it's only used when setting IP address for the first time? I am wondering because we are disabling the option. Is it easier if we use Studio 5000 instead? Thank for you such an informative video.
@SolisPLC4 жыл бұрын
That's correct. However, you can reset the module to "factory settings" and use the tool again.

So this 1734 platform is not a stand alone PLC? It is to be used as a remote rack?
@SolisPLC4 жыл бұрын
That's correct Mark. It's just a remote rack. Typically, I would use them in small field panels that are tied to the main panel which includes a CompactLogix or a ControlLogix PLC. These modules can't do anything on their own.

@@SolisPLC thanks for the reply!! Is there any 1734 that is a stand alone?

Hey Vlad you can also have assigned a static IP address to your laptop even before discovering the device in the BootP Tool right?

HI Vlad. I have been your channel follower for a long time. Thank you for your all the time hard work to share the great contents. I find an issue in this video . You said to use BOOTP to get the IP address but it shows DHCP type in the BooTP DHCP commissioning tool after setting up the 999. And one more thing, I wonder if a 9 should be set on the thumbwheel other than 11 finally because the 9 is set in the BooTP/DHCP tool . THANK YOU.

Hi, Thank you for this video, I have two questions 1- Can't we keep the PC Ethernet adapter in static IP then assign the IP to 198.168.1.200, then use BootP? 2- If an IP address has been previously assigned to module 1734-AENT, do we need to reset the current IP address before going to 999 to assign new IP? Thanks
@mubarishussain36965 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. I appreciate it. If you need to set the ip to 192.168.1.x it's better with dial switches. Also you can change it via web interface
@shawnspencer87664 жыл бұрын
Since you can set the last octet, Did you go through the process of bootp to set the subnet only?
