Malham village looks a lovely place, Patrick. The limestone scenery is most spectacular, like no other I have ever seen before, with the exception of Cheddar, perhaps. It's definitely worth a visit to that area after seeing this film of yours. Many thanks for this showing, Patrick.

Thanks for watching this film Ffranc, 9 years since I made this and have not been back to Malham since. It's a lovely place though. All the best 👍

The Dales really are STUNNING and that was a fabulous video. It's a really long time since I visited Malham cove and the Tarn, which I remember being very pretty and serene. I have never visited Gordale scar and after watching this, It will be somewhere I'd like to AVOID!! Janet's Foss on the other hand looks fabulous. Thanks again Patrick, great job.

The Dales are indeed stunning, but I was being rather over dramatic about Gordale Scar when I made this, so don't let that put you off visiting, it's worth going to 😊

This is one of the best walks I have done. I did it the other way round climbing up the gordale waterfall and also walked round the tarn nature reserve back to the cove. Your vids are great and inspire me to find new walks. I’m planning to do kinder scout via Jacob’s ladder after watching your video.

Really nice to revisit Malham Cove. Over 10 years since I was there and probably couldn't manage the climb to the tarn now. Goredale Scar looked dangerous and you would have been safer with a walking stick. I never go out without one as so many uses - clearing nettles when wearing shorts, giving stability when on uneven ground and as a weapon in case a fierce dog comes along. Your videos remind me of how much beautiful scenery there is in England so please keep making them.

It was quite a challenge climbing down Gordale Scar, and the last bit was particularly tricky I was unable to film it as I descended. Still a wonderful spot in the Dales though, been over four years now since I was here. Thanks as always for commenting and taking the time to watch. Cheers, Patrick :)

I'v only approached Gordale Scar from the Janets Foss direction,I was with my Daughter and when we got to it we didn't dare climb up it,it was lovely to see it all again, wonderful film as usual, beautifully shot and narrated and the music was lovely, better than any tourist information film or travel/walking programme on tv. Thanks for all the hard work and for sharing Patrick, that's the 30th straight film I'v watched and loving them. Pete.

Just come across this even though it's a couple of years ago. We did this walk in the opposite direction when we stayed on the campsite at Gordale Scar. Hats off for coming down the scar. I looked at it from the bottom and thought not today. It's a great part of the country even if the village and the top of the cove don't allow for much solitude. There is a certain nostalgia for Y H's of the 1970s although they're not as regimented these days. They were almost a rite of passage if you enjoyed being out in the countryside. Keep posting fella. There's something quirky about your videos that I enjoy. Know exactly what you mean about people who push into queues. Selfish sods.

Hey Joe, many thanks for your great comments. I did this walk four years and loved it, Gordale Scar is a great place to visit. When I was here at the time of filming this there were so many people climbing up, so it made it harder to find a way down whilst negotiating the other people at the same time. Thanks again and for taking the time to watch. Cheers, Patrick :)

Another walk I’ve done a few times, although I’ve always ascended via Gordale Scar. Must try it your way next time. Also loved the shopping story. Some folk really are weird aren’t they. Paul Beachcroft

I can always remember having to throw my big rucksack down Gordale Scar in order to climb down safely when I first came here in 1988 :)

@@solitaryrambler I imagine it is easier ascending rather than descending Gordale Scar, but Ill have yo give it a go...

Great video. Not so sure if i would descend down the steep path at Gordale. The waterfall is impressive to watch from the ground. When i went in the winter months it was extremely cold.

Thank you. It wasn't too bad when I was here filming this back in 2014, but what I remember about the descent more was that it was a Sunday afternoon and lots of people were trying to climb up Gordale Scar, so that made it more awkward when I was trying to get down :)

You certainly finished on a high literally Patrick we were both holding our breath for you mate...what spectacular area of the country Malham is ...Malham Cove reminded me especially on the top were along with the other walkers ,you were gingerly making your way along ....is took us right back to the surface of the summit of Arthurs Seat In Edinburgh .. Nothing prepares you for the top of that ..with its Moltan Lava that must have spilled out all those millions of years before and now finely polished by the constant climbers scurrying about the top ,,,Myself - Lee and even my son Ryan really had to watch our footing up there ... My first impressions of Malham Tarn was that it must have been a reservoir ..but I was surprised when you mentioned it was in fact a lake ..you certainly packed so much into this film again ..We both laughed out loud at your shopping story too ... So once again thank you for sharing your time and films with us Patrick ...Frank And Lee .....

The Malham Cove, the tarn and Gordale Scar walk was definitely one of the most spectacular I've done. it's about 6 or 7 miles in all. Malham village is near Skipton too so quite reachable if travelling by train and bus. Unfortunately I was there on a Sunday so it was particularly busy. Had I been there on a weekday it might have been quieter when I was scrambling down Gordale Scar so I could have maybe filmed it better then. Never mind, still a fantastic walk as you saw. Thanks for watching Frank and Lee. Cheers, Patrick :-)
